When Ambika heard the first howl of the night, she knew the beast had arrived, and it was dangerous to be found near Gauri's cold body. With his advanced senses, it wouldn't take him long to find his soul mate.

Recovering her wits, she discards the idea of collecting the leftover articles of ritual and lifting her satchel, decides to reach the safety of the forbidden Chandra Mahal, her secret abode. It is the only place where no one will search for her, for it remains locked and only she has access. Since the demon has already taken Gauri, he will soon deliver the other half of the deal- the King's head. She no longer had to worry about being the prey of his wrath.

It is about only one night.

Just tonight, and she will safely join the circus at dawn. This time, she won't fail.

At the back of her head, Ambika felt the vulnerable connection she shared with Raghuveer fading. The spell of Vashikaran broke. She gasped and froze in midstride. Elation filters through her bones. Her perpetrator no longer lives. The man who destroyed her dreams was gone after suffering a terrible fate at her hands. Ambika's lips quivered and brows furrowed with emotions. She has done it. Her vengeance has reached its climax. She laughs in fulfilment. Now, it matters less if she dies.

She never looked as unhinged as she did in that moment as she rejoiced at someone's pain.

As she was jogging towards the haunted palace with a heavy satchel hanging from her shoulder, her right foot got entangled in the thick and protruding root of an old tree. It sends her tumbling forward on her knees. The articles of her sin escaped the mouth of the satchel and scattered on the forest floor. Ambika winced at the painful impact her frail joints suffered and released a string of profanities. Pushing her long silver mane from her face, she tried to stand but whimpered at the bruised ankle. The soreness in it accumulated a sheen of moisture in her wide eyes.

Amid this, a light patter of determined footsteps reached her ears. Opening her eyes, she came face to face with the bare feet of a female.

Stunned, she looked up and was ambushed by the furious gaze of an unforgiving Vasundhara. A thunder was brewing in her body as she stared at the witch in abhorrence. The Queen of Rana Fort was shivering in rage, and ice cold slowly seeped into her bones. The murderous glare that settled on her visage could've turned most valiant hearts into a frenzy.

Ambika was only a witch.

She knew her cover was blown. Her whereabouts and her identity were discovered.

If Vasundhara was left bewildered at the latest discovery, she didn't show it. The thought of Ambika being a witch dispatches painful tremors down her spine.

'She is closer than you think. She sees everything.'

Raghuveer's last words rang in her ears and her hold on the divine dagger tightened.
