Friends With Benefits?

"What?" I asked Saffarra as she dragged me up to her room. She had a poker face on, which made it even more difficult to contain my curiosity.

Saffarra gently closed the door behind and turned to stare at me. "I am really confused." She furrowed her eyebrows.

"Why?" I sat criss cross on her bed.

"With Ethan..." She murmured. "He's never acted this way before over a girl." Saffarra started pacing around the bed. She was muttering things to herself that I couldn't quite catch. "I think you should give him a second chance." 

I immediately turned my head to stare at her, "Yeah, um, Saff...I think you may have bonked your head a little to hard in the bathroom." I was about to laugh, but she gave me a 'really' face. "Too soon?"

"Ya think? And you should give him another chance. If he messes up this time..." She shook her head." Trust me, he won't."

"Give me one reason why I should give Ethan Parker a second chance. All he's been is a complete asshole."

"Hmmm, let's see..." She pretended to think, "You like him, may even love him,  two; when you two were around each other you guys were practically glowing, three; Both of you would do anything for each other, and four; You guys can't live without each other." Saffarra stared directly into my eyes on the last one.

Those were kinda true, especially the last one, I've been bugging Ethan for practically my whole life. "I said only one reason, not four...show off."

Saffarra grinned, "Is that a yes?"

I sighed in defeat, "I never said no. I can forgive but I won't forget."

"YES!OH MY GOD.YES!" A male voice screamed from behind the closed door. A grin spread across my face from amusement. I got up and opened the door to see a REALLY  happy Ethan with his fist pumped up in the air.

He regained his composure and acted as if nothing happened. He cleared his throat, "Sup."

"Eavsdropping I see."

He scoffed, "Me? Eavsdropping...psh, never."

I nodded my head, "Right." Things weren't as awkward as they were earlier, I guess that was a good thing?

Saffarra slithered next to us and smiled, "You're welcome by the way." She shot a meaningful look at Ethan.

"Thanks Sassafras." He gave her a hug. 

"You just called me Sassafras." Saffarra pointed out.

"I know." Ethan laughed. Oh how I missed his laugh. 

"Glad we're friends again Ethan." I said. I was not going to ease up that easily.

"Friends? Oh, well -er- um yeah. friends." He said flustered. I stook my hand out as he was about to hug me. "Oh."

"Friends." We both said at the same time shaking hands.

"With benefits." Saffarra piped up and walked away. 

With benefits? I don't know...

"Thanks for dropping me off Ethan." I smiled shyly at him from the passenger seat of his car.

"No problem, anything for you." He gazed into my eyes.

My heart beated faster as I stared into those emerald eyes if his. He brought his head closer to mine.
