SHANE POV
Thankfully, My brother and I got there on time. My heart is filled with hope that may this experience will lead me to my healing and happiness.
When I got out of the car, I was shocked of what I saw. Cause instead of a party like venue, ang bumungad sa akin ay isang rural na lugar. I looked around and I saw that there's a lot of tent and mga nag lalakad na volunteers, Crowded din ang lugar and I saw a big tarpulin sa gilid. It's a outreach program.
My heart that was once nervous, calmed done. I don't mind being an outreach program, In fact I prefer this. Helping and serving has been something that I'm passionate about. Mahalaga na tumulong sa ibang tao, especially when we have the means to help.
"Kuya? I thought party yung pupuntahan natin?" Tanong ko sa aking Kuya.
"I forgot to tell you. Yes, pupunta tayong party mamaya but before that, We will participate muna sa outreach program ng Kuya Vince mo. Gusto kase niya na this birthday celebration niya is different. Kaya mag ou-outreach program muna siya, bago magparty. You know naman, na kahit ganon yung Kuya Vince mo.
But I can agree with Kuya, Kahit medyo loko-loko yon si Kuya Vince. Passionate siya sa mga gantong bagay. Sa totoo nga, Si Kuya Vince yung nag mulat sakin sa mga voluntary activities like this. Niyaya niya ako paminsan minsan at Ilang beses narin kame nag kasama. That's why he is one of my favorite friends ng Kuya ko.
I was looking around when I saw that they're kids na nag kukumpulan sa gilid while holding a book. I saw how their faces lights up turning the pages of the book they are holding. They're so intrigued and interested in reading it. Lumapit ako sa kanila to check on them.
"Hi!" Pag bati ko sa kanila. Their eyes was diverted to my direction and they close the book. They seem to be suprised. Cute!
"OPO!"
I asked my kuya to helped me carry the free tables and Brought some chairs para may maupuan ang mga bata. Good thing, marami rami yung upuan na kinuha nila.
And when I got back, We sat down and I start teaching the kids to read, little by little. They are so eager to learn that they pick it up right away. I was so inspired witnessing it.
Then after than we colored the book, then I teach them some nursery rhymes and the dance that comes with it. The place is filled with the children's smile and laughter. The kids really enjoyed it. Seeing them like that made me filled with Joy. For a while, I forgot the pain I was dealing with.
I waved goodbye to the kids cause it's already packing time. It was a very tiring but fulfilling day. I was bored na napatingin ako sa paligid, I noticed na puro friends pala nila Kuya Gian and Kuya Vince yung nandito. I know some of them and some are new faces.
