SHANE POV
It has been a year already staying here in the hospital. Sa totoo lang, nakakapagod, nakakadrain, at nakakalungkot sobra pero lahat yon napapawi tuwing nakikita ko kung paano pinipili ni Henry lumaban kahit alam ko kung gaano siya nahihirapan. Lahat ng mga sacrifice namin, I know one day it will be worth it.
Even though we are staying here in the hospital. I do my best to make him feel at home and to enjoy every time we have.
Minsan binabasahan ko siya ng mga libro at minsan yung mga tula na sinusulat ko sa kanya. Sabay din kaming nanood ng mga favourite kong animes, nagulat nga ako na alam niya yung Yamató Nadeshiko, I thought he's not a fan of this. Minsan, he just offer me to be my muse and draw him. And minsan naman I do it to him without him noticing. I want to immortalize him through my arts.
Minsan I sing and dance in front of him, like a little kid showing his father what talents he have. And seeing him smile and laugh, is just so therapeutic to me. I hope I do the same to him.
Whenever he holds my hands tight and sighed out of the blue. I just let him and make him lean on me. And make him feel that I'm here. Whenever it happens, I sing to somehow help him relax.
I just got here sa kanyang room and as always, he welcomes me with a warm bright smile. Kakahatid ko lang kay Jerome sa school niya and go here right after.
"Hi, Love. I love you" Henry said
"Hi there, Pogi! Mukhang you're so happy right now ah. I love you too" I smiled at him
Seeing him na may malaking ngiti always comfort me, calms me and give me hope. I love seeing him smile, and I'll do everything to see him smile. Nag simula na kami mag kwetuhan at kinamusta ko how does he feel today.
Habang nag kwekwentuhan kami about sa mga achievement ng anak namin sa school. He randomly just call me
"Shane?" He said in the sweetest tone. I raised my eye brows and looked at him. "Yes, Love?"
"I love you" He said and smiled
"I love you too" And then we went back to talking about our son, a few minutes later
Then he calls me again and Tell me, "I love you, palagi" and I replied "I love you too, Henry" I replied
And then a few minutes later while I'm fixing my things, He looked at me again and call my name.
"Shane Haven?" He said while smiling
"Hmm?" I replied
"Mahal na mahal kita, tandaan mo yan" He said and smile widely. I kissed him and replied "Mahal na mahal din kita, Henry"
I realized that he just keep om saying I love you to me ever since I got here. I'm not complaining about it but why do I feel that he's saying farewell to me
"Ikaw Love ah, Kanina kapa nag I-I love you sa akin. Para naman mag papaalam kana sakin-" Biro kong sabi na kinatigil ko din, ng bigla kong maisip na baka mag papaalam na nga siya. Napatingin ako sa kanya
He's crying while smiling at me. My heart feel so heavy again and I went straight to him.
"You're not namam diba, Love?" I asked while trying to stop my tears from falling
"I don't wanna waste any time without telling you I love you, Love. I wanna take every chance I have to tell you, I love you. I just want to remind you how much I love you. Cause we don't know know long much time we have left" He said
I try to stop him to what he is saying. "Shh, Love. No, No. Don't say that. We have a lot of time" Although I know he's right, Tomorrow is never a promise. So make the most of every second count.
"Love, Promise me na when I leave. You'll continue to live your life ah" He said and caress my face
"Love, how can you say that? You're not going to die. And I don't know nga how I can be able to live without you"
"If mawala nako, I'll always stay here. I'll never leave" He said and point my heart
Napayuko nalang ako at umiyak. Napahawak ako ng mahigpit sa kanya. I don't want him to leave
I feel like something is moving and it's him trying to stand up, nagulat ako ng makita yon.
"Love, why are you standing? Dapat naka higa kalang, you should rest. Baka matanggal yung nakasaksak sa iyo" I said worriedly but he doesn't care he still stand up
Habang nasa harap niya ako, na napapa pikit dahil sa pag tayo niya. Inabot niya ang kamay niya sa akin
"Can I have a dance with my husband?" He said, smiling at me with a teary eye
And di ko na mapigilan ang luha ko at muli itong lumabas.
"Please? We weren't able to have our dream wedding, can I at least have this dance with you?" He said ng dahan dahan while trying to stop his tears
I grab his hands and we dance as He place his hands on my waist and light place mine in his shoulder.
"Ganto sana kita isasaway pag kinasal na tayo, kaso mukhang di na ako aabot doon" He said, It breaks my heart when he is being this
"Love, you will. We will have our wedding. Gagaling ka. Sa totoo lang, kahit di na engrande na wedding kahit simple lang Basta sayo ako ikasal, okay na okay nako. Lalaban tayo, Love" I said and caress his face. He hold that hand of mine and kissed it
We continue to dance for a few minutes. We don't care if there's no music, hearing him breathe is the only music I need right now.
"Love, may nabasa ako online. And I don't know if it's true" He said out of the blue
"What is it Love" I said
" They said that after death, The brain lives for 7 minutes to replay all the best memories.." He said while his head is in mine while his eyes are close
"Oh Love" I sighed again and caress his face
He opened his eyes and hold my face using both of his hands
"If that's true, I want you to know that.." He said na naiiyak
"You- you're my 7 minutes, cause you're the best thing that happened in my life"
And tears started to burst in both of our eyes.
"Love" is the only thing that I said as I hugged him tightly. I wanna shout, I was praying in my mind. Please, don't take the man of life away
"You're the best thing that happened to me as well" I replied
"Love, We will get married. I promise you that. Please fight for me, for us" I begged him
He hugged me and Nodded. "I will do everything I can in the best if my reach, Love" He said and kissed me by the forehead
We just continue to sway, enjoying every moment.
