The hotel was close, but the drive felt like ages as I anxiously drove us. Luke's leg bounced in the passenger seat next to me with what I hoped was excited anticipation and not regretful nerves. I wondered what changed for him to make him suddenly so bold to act after last night when he rejected me, but I didn't want to ruin the moment and ask. I was doubtful it was entirely due to my behavior all day.
We pulled up to the hotel and I parked on the side where he told me to. Using his room key we went in through a side door and I followed him up the stairs to the third floor. His room was only a short walk away from the staircase. As we walked my mind played through fantasies of what would happen. The door would close and he'd pin me against the wall. He'd take me to the bed and we'd make love to one another. The nervous excitement in my stomach only grew as we reached his hotel room and he used the key to open the door.
As the door closed behind us it felt like something changed. We looked at each other somewhat uncertainly. Luke set down his backpack and room key and turned back to me. He came towards me, almost cautious as if he was afraid I would run away, until he closed the space between us. He gently grabbed my hands in his.
"Are you sure you're okay with this?" He asked, his voice low. I nodded, unable to find my voice to speak. "I don't want to add to things." I assumed he was referring to Nick. I pushed the thought of Nick away quickly, not wanting to feel any anger in this moment.
"I'm sure," I said softly. Luke nodded and leaned down to kiss me. His kiss was soft and sweet, not like the kiss we had shared at the office. His hands gently cradled my head as he kissed me tenderly. I felt my nervousness melt away at his embrace and I wrapped my arms around him to hold him close. The primal lust from my dream that had been with me all day melted away revealing a deeper want and desire that had been there all along.
I shivered in Luke's arms as we kissed, his hands trailing down my body until he was able to wrap his arms around me and pull me into him deeper. His hands slipped under the hem of my T-shirt and caressed the small of my back. I grimaced into the kiss when I realized how sticky I must feel after our long day.
"What?" He asked, pulling back from our kiss.
"I'm gross," I told him. "It's been a long day."
"Do you want to shower?" He asked. I chewed the inside of my cheek. A shower would be nice, but I didn't have clean clothes.
"I can give you a clean shirt to wear at least," he suggested, reading my mind. "You're out of luck for underwear or shorts though - not that I'd mind seeing you in just one of my shirts." I laughed and Luke smiled at me.
"Would you shower with me?" I asked him after a few moments. He looked surprised at my question. "If you want to, that is..." I added.
"Of course," he said. He seemed happy I would ask. Luke released me from his gentle hold and opened the door to the bathroom behind me, he flicked on the light and turned on the shower, getting it warmed up for us. He pulled his tshirt off over his head and I couldn't help but stare as his toned and tanned chest was revealed to me. He always enjoyed working out when we were together, and I was delighted to see that he still kept up with it. He took a deep breath and I pressed my lips together as I watched his muscles ripple in his chest.
"You look so good," I said, my voice heavy with desire. I crossed the bathroom and ran my hands over his chest, eliciting a groan from Luke.
"Thank you," he replied. His hands grabbed the edge of my shirt and he slowly lifted it over my head, taking it off me. I reached behind me and unclasped my bra, letting it fall to the floor. Luke sucked in a breath through his teeth as my bra fell away and I couldn't help but smile.
