I went back to my hotel room and prepared for the evening. I put on black pants and a white button up shirt. I charged my cameras and was ready to go.
When I arrived at the venue I met the rest of the team for the first time. Everyone was super nice and warm, they welcomed me like a true family.
There was Joost standing in his blue suit with huge shoulders. Even though the suit looked quite ridiculous he was still very hot wearing those black glasses of his. He was chatting with another team member, so I didn't disturb him.
Tonight my job wasn't too hard. I just had to take some photos of Joost performing. He wasn't up for another hour and a half so I had some time to look around and talk to other team members.
As I was talking to this nice stylist I felt someone staring at me. I turned around and saw Joost looking at me. I smiled and waved at him. He walked up to me and said:
" There are just two more performers left until it's my turn" There are just two more performers left until it's my turn.
"Oh yeah I'm ready, I was chatting with the team and I must have lost track of time. "
"Haha, I'm happy you're getting along with others well."
"It's easy when everyone is so nice. " I smiled and Joost smiled back.
"We should get going I'm next. " said Joost quite nervously.
"I'm sure you'll do great." I reassured him.
"Thank you Julia. " Joost said gratefully, as we made our way to the stage.
His performance went amazing. The crowd started cheering and shouting when Joost came up on stage. Everybody sang along and I managed to get many great shots of his performance.
After he thanked the crowd we both returned backstage where the whole team greeted and cheered for Joost. He thanked everyone for support and started to look around like he was looking for something. When our eyes locked he stepped in and we hugged.
"How did I do? " he asked while still catching his breath
"Joost, you were amazing. The crowd loved you. I have a feeling you might just win Eurovision " I said with pride.
He bowed his head slightly, a gesture of gratitude, and I couldn't help but chuckle at his modesty.
After everyone was done performing, all the artists went on stage and danced together before the pre-party ended.
I said bye to the team and went back to my hotel while the participants were still on stage. I was tired and needed to get some rest before going to the actual Eurovision in Malmo the next day.
