I got up from bed and walked to open the door. I thought for a second that it might be Olivia who is knocking, because when we were walking in city she bought a souvenir and asked to put it in my bag and she forgot to take it. But when I finally opened the door there was Joost. Dressed in grey sweatpants and a white shirt, with his blond hair messy. He was looking down while bitting his lip. He seemed anxious and a bit sad even. When I opened the door he lifted his eyes and they met with mine.
"Hi Julia, am I disturbing you?"
"No Joost, you're not"
"Good, umm, I really need to talk to you. May I come in?"
"Ugh, I guess" I wasn't really in the mood to chat with him
But anyways, he came in, I closed the door, walked to my bed and sat on the end of it while Joost was standing in front of me.
"Julia, I just want to say that I am very very and truly sorry. I realised that I had no reason to act the way I did and I what I did was really stupid of me"
"Please be more exact." I interupted him" What actions of yours are you apolagising for?" I forced him to say what he did wrong out loud
"Well, I'm sorry that I was jealous of Marko even though I had no reason to be. It's not like I own you and you can't hang out with other people. Also I'm deeply sorry for coming to that bar with that random girl. It was very childish of me."
I still wasn't convinced. I felt better of course, but I still hadn't fully forgiven him. And as I was about to say that out loud he was quicker and said:
"I just acted like that because, because" he almost started stuttering, but took a deep breath and managed to say "because I'm in love with you"
His words hit me like a lightning bolt. My heart was beating so fast it seemed like it was about to pop out. I was replaying his words in my head over and over again. The thing is. Part of me liked him as well. Probably bigger part than I thought. And that part must have taken over because I slowly stood up from my bed so I was standing in front of him. I looked up to him, reached and put my hand behind his neck and pulled him in for a kiss. I felt his body relax and sight at ease. He kissed me back and there we were, lost in a moment that felt like it was suspended in time. There was a mixture of emotions in my head, but all I could focus on was the warmth of his lips against mine and the way his arms wrapped around me, pulling me closer.
When we finally broke apart, his eyes were soft, filled with a mixture of relief and hope.
"I've wanted to tell you for so long time" he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper. "I was just too scared to ruin what we had."
I nodded, my hand still resting on his neck, feeling his pulse under my fingertips. "I'm glad you did. Joost, I love you too"
He pulled me in for another kiss. The kiss deepened, becoming more urgent and passionate. Every movement of his lips sent shivers down my spine. His hands slid up my back under my shirt, fingers tracing patterns that made my skin tingle. I dragged my fingers through his hair, pulling him even closer, desperate to erase any remaining space between us. His lips were sweet like the forbidden fruit.
I walked backward, our lips never parting, until I fell onto the bed. He crawled over me, his eyes searching mine for any sign of hesitation. I gave him a reassuring nod, and he leaned down to kiss me again, his lips moving from my mouth to my jawline, then down to my neck. I gasped at the sensation, my hands gripping his shoulders.
Every touch, every kiss felt like a spark, lighting up my senses and making me dizzy with desire. His hands touched my body, exploring with a mix of tenderness and urgency that left me breathless. I could feel the heat coming from him. We continued to make out, our bodies entangled, lost in the intensity of our emotions. As we finally pulled apart, both of us breathing heavily, I looked into his eyes and saw the same emotions mirrored there - love and passion.
"I'm so glad I'm here with you," he murmured, his voice low and tender.
"Me too,"
I felt his lips press a gentle kiss to my forehead, a gesture that made my heart fill with affection.
We shifted slightly, finding a more comfortable position. He hugged me from behind. I could feel his whole body pressed against me. He hugged me at my torso.
"Goodnight, love," he whispered, his breath warm against my skin.
"Goodnight," I whispered back, my voice barely audible as sleep began to claim me.
With one last gentle squeeze, I felt him relax completely, his own breathing evening out as he drifted off. Wrapped in his hug, I closed my eyes, letting the comforting presence of Joost carry me into a peaceful sleep.
