Charlotte's POV
It's been two days since Cameron confirmed that he once had a thing for me.
Justin is staying for a few days in the island, so we've been going out and spending a lot of time together, which made me put all thoughts related to that to a side, but now that I was alone in my room i had the time to hyperfixate on them.
It's just that I always thought we were just friends, nothing else, and i feel kinda dumb for being the only one who didn't notice.
But that explains why he was so upset when i started dating Neels and didn't have time for him.
... did he think if I weren't with Justin i'd be with him?
Now I have so many questions circulating in my head, like, since when was he attracted to me?
Was that the reason why he became my friend?
Now I feel so sorry for giving Justin a hard time with him, but I was so clueless!
My phone vibrated, kicking me out of my thoughts. I had just received a text from Ariana.
Ariana:

It was a link.
I pressed on it and it took me to one of those celebrity gossip pages, I had seen them before, they had a lot of readers.
'Sources close to Bieber fear for his mental health after reunion with ex-lover Charlotte' read the title.
What the fuck is this?
'An inside source, close to Bieber, told us they fear for the singer's health while being reunited with ex flame Charlotte. There's no secret Justin's relationship to Charlotte has always been messy, it seems like the two can just never get it right when it comes to love.'
They kept going on about how we were on and off for so long, calling our relationship toxic and whatnot, but there was one fragment in particular that caught my attention.
'... insider says Charlotte confessed to Justin that she had been using him, dating him in hopes that some of his fame might rub off on him, and it seems like she got it.'
My jaw dropped.
How did they know about that? Everyone who knew about that was told the truth, why would they pass the story to them while knowing the truth?
I never wanted Justin for his fame, this was never my plan!
I grabbed my phone and texted back Ariana.
Charlotte:
who the hell would've sold that story to them?
everyone knows that scooter made me say that to him
he himself told justin the truth!
Ariana:
and why would anyone do it?
what do they have to gain out of it? it's stupid
I sighed and fearfully went into instagram to see how my notifications looked.
Just like I thought, filled with comments about the article, telling me that i didn't deserve Justin, accusing me of using him.
As I read all their words of hatred I received another text from Ariana.
Ariana:
Call me crazy butttt
I can only think of one person who'd benefit from this
