"So what is this video about? Why did your teacher send it to me?" Molly says
"Molly, I want you to know that I'm innocent. The video is edited, and it seems like someone is trying to frame me for something I didn't do, "I say
"It looks pretty real to me what happened. I have a feeling something more is going on," Molly says
"What do you mean?" I say
"Ever since the explosion five years ago, you've been acting different, so I want to know what did carl do to you," Molly says
"Again, nothing happened. It was one bad thing that led to another, and it happened," I say
"James, you don't have to lie. You can talk to me. I'm here for you," Molly says
"Can I call one of my friends? It'll make things easier for me," I say
"Sure, go ahead," Molly says
I leave the room, take out my phone, and call Jack. "James, why are you calling me so early? Shouldn't you be in class right now?" Jack says
"Jack, remember last night?" I say
"How could I not? It was so cool," Jack says
"Well, I just found out someone recorded us. I don't know who or how, but someone saw us," I say
"Are you being serious? If so, that's very bad," Jack says
"Yeah, and they sent that video to my whole class," I say
"That makes no sense. I saw no one around. I don't get how they got that footage," Jack says
"Look, I plan on telling my mom about everything, and I need you here. It'll make things easier for me," I say
"Yeah, sure, I'll be there soon. Just wait a few minutes," Jack says
"Thanks, Jack, I appreciate it," I say
"Hey, what're best friends for?" Jack says
"See you soon, man," I say, hanging up.
I return to the living room. "I'm going to guess that you called Jack," Molly says
"Yeah, I did," I say
"You spend a lot of time with him. You should get other friends," Molly says
"I tried, but no one wants the time of day to talk to me besides Jack," I say
"I didn't know it was like that," Molly says
"Yeah, Jack is my true friend. He always has my back," I say
After a few minutes, we hear a knock at the door. I open the door. "James, I'm here, so you're going to tell your mom everything?" Jack says
"Tell me what?" Molly says
"Sit down. It's going to be a lot," I say
Molly sits on the couch, Jack and I sit across from her, and I mentally prepare myself to explain everything
