I awaken in a room bathed in a dim, mysterious light, the air thick with the enigmatic scent of pine. A shadowy wolf is nestled beside me. "Morning, brother. I trust your slumber was undisturbed," Phantom murmurs, his voice a haunting echo in the stillness.
"Ugh, First, I have to deal with you in my nightmares. Now, I have to deal with you in the real world. This is going to suck," I say
"I got to make sure my brother. Is safe," Phantom says
"Really, I don't believe you after everything you made me go through."
"I'm sorry I tried to give you hints to try to make you remember faster," Phantom says
"I forgive you for now," I say
"Good, glad to hear it," Phantom says
"Wait, where even am I?" I say
"We're still in my domain. I'll let you go; I'll see you around, brother," Phantom says
I wake up again, and I'm in my room. "well, that was weird," I think. I get off my bed, change back to a human, and turn on my computer. I see that only Mr.Johnson has a class today. "Sweet, at least something is going right," I think as I sign into the class and see I'm the only one there.
"James, I'm surprised you joined. It's the last day of school; I thought you would skip," Johnson says
"No, I didn't feel like doing that," I say
"I appreciate it. Since it's just us, I wanted to ask you something," Johnson says
"What's up?" I say
"That video, was it real or not?" Johnson says
"Yeah, it was no one got hurt. I made sure of it, so don't worry about that," I say
"I see. Anyway, you can leave if you want to. I appreciate you joining the class. Have a good summer, James," Johnson says
"Yeah, you too. Bye now," I say, leaving the class.
I leave my room and see Molly in the living room, "hey James, how are you?" Molly says
"I'm happy it's summer vacation," I say
"Speaking of which, your cousins told me you wanted to go to summer camp, so I signed you up for it," Molly says
"Oh, alright then," I say
"It starts tomorrow, so start packing," Molly says
"Alright, I will," I say
I return to my room, and I start packing. Suddenly, I sense a presence behind me. I turn around and see Phantom in his human form. "How did you get here? Don't answer that, I don't care," I say, my voice a mix of surprise and annoyance.
"That's cruel," Phantom says
"Dude, you were messing with me in my nightmares, and you think I'm cruel," I say
"So, do you want my help or not?" Phantom says
"Sure, thanks, bro. I appreciate it," I say
"Bro, so you're already getting used to all this?" Phantom says
"I guess so, but you must meet my best friend, Jack. He's awesome," I say
"I know who he is. I've been following you around, remember?" Phantom says
"Right, I forgot about that," I say
We finish Packing. "Is that everything you need?" Phantom says
"Yeah, that's everything, thank you," I say
"Yeah, no problem," Phantom says
I get a text from Jack: "Hey, I'm going to drop by. I need to talk to you about something."
A few minutes later, Jack comes into my room. "Hey James, I heard that you're going to summer camp. I'm assuming your cousins took part in that?" Jack says
"Yeah, they did," I say
Jack notices Phantom, "hey there," Jack says
"You must be Jack," Phantom says
"Yea, and you are?" Jack says
"Phantom, I'm James' brother," Phantom says
"I see that's cool, and don't worry, I know all about the whole shapeshifter thing," Jack says
"Good, at least you know about that," Phantom says
"So what powers do you have, phantom?" Jack says
"The same as my brother, but I specialize in dark magic," Phantom says
"I see. Well, I gotta go home and pack. I'll see you tomorrow. It was nice meeting you, phantom," Jack says
"Likewise, please stay safe," Phantom says
Jack leaves. "Isn't he awesome?" I say
"Sure, now I'm going to leave. Stay safe, brother; I'll see you tomorrow," Phantom says as he goes through a portal.
"Well, tomorrow is going to be interesting." I think
I get onto my bed and fall asleep a few minutes later.
