A new friend

Jack didn't have many friends. He had contacts, but never considered anyone as close ones. The reason was somewhere he knew that they won't stay and listen to him. Before that reason he tried to become close to some of them and it didn't go well. They promised that they would stay but they didn't. It hurts, when someone you believe turns out to be the one who hurts you. This new friend name is Charles. Jack met him a couple of years ago. Well this guy was his hope. I mean when he tried to be close with some people, he didn't have hope. He knew it would not go well. But this time it was different because he had hope. When you really have hope, you will give it a shot. Well he did.

Jack loved to play basketball. So he used to go the ground and practice alone. One day, Charles comes in and challenged for a match. Jack agreed to it. Charles won that with two point difference. So, he also started to come to the ground and practiced with him. At first, it was about school stuff. Abruptly Jack started to feel like telling about his personal things. For starters, it was about Monica. One day, after the practice, Jack said "Bro I want to say you something." Charles said "Go on." Jack said "It is about the girl I love." Charles said "Are you sure it's not affection." Jack said "I don't know." Charles said "Well no worries. Just tell me." Jack explained him everything about her." Charles said "Awesome bro, but you have to talk to her." Jack said "I need a reason to talk." Charles said "A casual conversation will be just enough." Jack said "Well let me see." Charles said "Since you told me yours. I will tell you mine." Jack said "Ok go on." Charles said "Her name is Ruby. The thing is, she also had feelings for me but her father got transferred to other state. The minute she left, my feelings stopped. It turned out that it was affection which was holding me. One day, I called her and said it's not going to work and also apologized to her. I ended up the call and didn't have a chance to speak. Anyway, she also didn't call from back then." Jack said "Bro that's a hell of a story." Charles said "There's a twist in it. After that, I got to know that she thought the exact same thing as me. If, I had given her the chance, she would say that, I thought the same thing and I also like another guy." Jack said "And you would question her that what if that is affection too?" Charles said "I did ask her." Jack was surprised.

Charles said "Yep, I was confused like I doubted myself. What if it is love? That doubt, made me text her. When I questioned her she said that she will enjoy it for the time being." Jack said "Bro, I don't know what to say." Charles said "Be clear about yours so that you can avoid this type of situation." After this, they started trusting each other.

Couple of days later, they were both called to a same birthday party. They both didn't know until they met in that party. They both were surprised. Jack said "What the hell are you doing here." Charles said "Same as you bro." They enjoyed that party. Charles said "Bro try taking Monica's number." Jack said "Ok I will." Charles said "Come to my house tomorrow. We will figure it out." Jack agreed to it. Charles gave him the address.

The next day, Jack tried to search his house but didn't get it. He went to his home, took his basketball and went near the ground and waited for him there. He didn't have Charles's contact number. Charles arrived after some time. Jack said "Bro I didn't get your address." Charles said "After this, we will go to my house." Jack agreed to it. They practiced and both of them went to Charles house. They were trying to figure out how to get the number. Jack said "I have an idea but I don't know that it will work or not." Charles said "What?" Jack said "I will let you know. Can we play some game?" Charles said "Sure." They played some video games and Jack went back to his home.
