Satiya loved her parents, but it was like she was still a child in their eyes. They couldn't believe she would even think of such a thing as re-sealing Kek. Never mind that she, Khait and Amisi had retrieved the artifacts and successfully evaded the society... until that morning.
She had quit arguing with them after the third attempt at justifying herself, and just let them complain. That's what she decided they were doing: complaining. It wasn't productive discussion, no one's mind would be changed. She figured they were probably rattled at having been taken captive as well. They were both very powerful, and weren't used to being vulnerable.
Suddenly, they heard footsteps in the tunnel. The three jumped up and Satiya and Cona extinguished their flames. The steps got closer, and they could see the light of a flashlight coming toward them.
"Satiya?"
"Amisi!" Satiya leapt forward and greeted the spy gratefully.
"The owner told me someone used my name to come down here, and I hoped it was you! Are you okay? It was the society, right? How did you escape?"
"Yeah it was, but I'm fine. I can give you the details later. Amisi, meet my parents, Michael and Dracona."
Amisi bowed to each in turn, "Khait is at the safehouse. We can all go there."
"Please. I couldn't remember the way."
Amisi led the way down the tunnels, with Satiya and Cona following after, as Michael insisted on being last. They left the tunnel at the closest exit to the safehouse and made it inside without incident.
"Satiya! It was you!" Kait cried when they walked in.
"I'm glad you two weren't caught as well. Do you still have the Blade and Shield?"
Khait turned around to show a backpack he was wearing, "It's in here."
"I've got mine, too," Amisi added, pulling the blade out of a sheath strapped to her chest under her arm.
"There's a problem," Satiya started. Amisi and Khait frowned, concerned.
"There are a lot of people at the compound. Hundreds. Getting to Kek could be an issue."
"I knew there were a lot of people in the society, but hundreds?!" Amisi replied, astonished. "Are you sure?"
At this, Cona stepped forward, "We saw about 300 men training in fighting. Even if the entire population of the order happened to all be training at once -unlikely- that is way more than we can handle by ourselves."
Michael spoke next, "We think we should get reinforcements. We can go back to Primary Aerie, work out a plan, and bring back our own force."
Khait and Amisi looked at Satiya.
"We would bring you with us. It is too dangerous to leave you here, especially with the artifacts of Ra we worked so hard to retrieve."
Khait and Amisi looked at each other, then back to Michael and Cona. They nodded.
"We'll need some chalk," Cona noted.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They lifted the beds and pushed the furniture until they had a large open space on the floor. Using a piece of chalk and some string, they drew two concentric circles. Then Cona and Michael debated over which symbols should be used. When they finally decided they had it correctly drawn out, they called Satiya over first.
"We'll send you through the anti-summoning circle first, so you can prepare the way for your friends. I'll go last because I have enough power to send myself and I can scrub the circle on the way out to keep it from being traced," Cona explained.
