No one knows how long, how many days since the phoenix was finally gone. Things haven't gotten better for the Avengers or the X-men.

Speaking of which, the government has gotten more tolerance towards not just the mutant situation, but the superhumans themselves. Sure, they didn't want to use their powers to bring harm to anyone, still they can't let their guard down.

Many voted for the Mutant Registration Act, to keep mutants from using their powers, but the Superhuman Registration Act has gotten more serious regarding the situation of the Scarlet Witch who almost brought havoc due to her reality warping powers. Because of this, the president gave orders to the military to be aware of reality warping superhumans and mutants alike, fearing they could make the same mistakes as The Scarlet Witch.

Meanwhile, the X-men were taking their time to heal themselves from the Phoenix Force, admitting that the being caused nothing but destruction rather than salvation except Namor, who still wanted to use its power. Having enough of his arrogance, Professor Xavier and Magneto banned him from stepping foot into the institute, and Wolverine gave him straining orders to stay away from the Jean Grey School and the students. Not that Emma, Scott, Colossus or Magik wouldn't care, they were more happy that he's out of their lives.

Scott disliked him even more for going against what the X-men stood for. Storm dislikes him for bringing destruction to Wakanda, the students are afraid of him. The X-men understood that Altantis can't be trusted, and broke ties with Namor and his kingdom. The government now sees Altantis as a threat to the public, and S.H.I.E.L.D under the orders of Director Fury are monitoring them under heavy measures as a precaution.

Scott, Emma, Magik, and Colossus joined the Jean Grey School as teachers, and took some time to recover from the Phoenix force's control. Though Wolverine, Beast, Kitty, and Iceman have already forgiven them, they still have one chance to prove themselves for the sake of all mutants.

Professor Xavier was recovering from his coma and returned to the school as the X-Men's founder, Scott gave up his leadership to him, which he understands. The world may have been free from the Phoenix force, but the scars of the past remain.

As for Wanda, the Scarlet Witch, who almost turned herself into a villain, and depowered mutants because of her father, Magneto, was given a note to stay away from the school, as the students feared her. Emma pitied her, she disliked how Wanda couldn't control her emotions, instead of depowering mutants to personally punish her father. Almost every mutant hated Wanda, they would call her horrible terms such as Evil Witch or Monster. She didn't mind it since it was her fault that they suffered worse before the Purifiers slaughtered many babies and children who hadn't discovered their powers.

However, it didn't stop the X-men from helping mutants, as they earned the trust and support of many heroes such as Spider-man, Dare-Devil, the heroes for hire, and the Fantastic Four. Thor told them that even though the X gene is a mystery to him and the other gods, Fate has other plans for them, if they are willing to continue to defy fate to protect the mutant race.

Wolverine sat on the rooftop of the X-men mansion, smoking a cigarette, looking at the night sky.

Scott walked up, with two whiskies.

"Summers?" Wolverine asked.

"Thought you need a drink" Scott said, as he handed Wolverine a whisky, which he gladly took and sipped.

"Thanks, I needed that," Wolverine replied.

Scott chuckled, "You know, it's quite ironic that you started a school for mutants, and you managed to make things better since none of the schools would accept these kids", he sipped his whisky.

Wolverine thought about it, "Well, I'm gonna thank you and Chuck. I wanted to give these kids a proper education, in fact, that's what Jean would do"

Scott becomes sad, hearing her name. He turned himself into the Dark Phoenix and nearly destroyed the world. Wolverine noticed it, and replied.

"I know. I missed her too. (sigh), You know, I never mention this, but Jean reminds me of someone I know just before you and everyone were born" Scott was surprised by this.

Wolverine smiled, "Her name was Rose, Rose'O Hara. We're friends since childhood. She was my caregiver when I got sick. I loved her very much"

He clenched his fist, "Until one day, my damned half-brother try to take her virginity, but Rose was strong and survived, we left my old home after my parents died".

"We stood by each other's side, when she told me that she was getting married to another man, despite my hurting heart, I chose to accept it, I was going to give him my blessing, then I met Dog again. Then Rose took his place at the moment I was aiming for him. She died in my arms, and for a long time, I realized love only gives you pain, knowing you can't earn what you want", Wolverine explained, looking at the stars.

Scott looked down, knowing how much Rose meant to Logan just like how Jean meant to him. Despite being thorns to each other's sides, they both cared about Jean, and always helped.

"I'm very sorry, Logan" Scott said, sadly.

"Nah, it's alright. I found my true purpose in Life, to live, and never stop fighting for the rights and freedom for our kind. That's what Jean would have want" Wolverine replied, finishing his whisky and getting off.

Scott watched, before turning to the sky, with a Solomon gaze, thinking about what his words were. He now understands why he felt a need to help Jean if she's hurt or unable to protect herself. He thought about his failure to save her from the influence of the Phoenix, when the Shi'ar declared her as a threat to the universe. But it was the Hellfire's doing, if only the X-men could explain the truth or if they have ways to convince the Phoenix to leave Jean's body.

When Hope was born, the Phoenix noticed her resemblance to Jean, he and the X-men had a chance to give back what Wanda took from the mutants, only to realize its true intentions were to bring destruction to the world. He realized what he shouldn't have done instead of becoming its host, to live for Jean and give the mutants the hope they needed.

Meanwhile, at the south coast of South Korea, a white leopard with wings teleported from a portal and then flew into the sky.

The creature then disappeared in a scarlet pink smoke, in the position, the white haired women with sharp yellow eyes coldly stared at the nation.

Her lips curled into a evil smile, as she thought of something. Raising her hand, a gold-red cube formed above the palm.

Inside the cube, the sounds of growling and shrieking could be heard. The sounds of hungry beasts eager to feast.
