Minji's POV

"Seriously, Min? We're doing this in a café?" Hanni said from across the table, a confused look on her face.

I groaned, "Hanni, my love, I have no idea how to talk to you. Yes, I'm ready, but I don't know how to do it," I said. We were currently sitting in a quiet café on the side of a busy street. Today is the day I finally tell Hanni about my life before Dallas—that was the plan I had in mind. It had been two weeks since Hanni confessed to her mother about our relationship. Her mother was furious, of course, but that night, while Hanni was at my house, her biological father arrived at their house. Apparently, things got heated, resulting in Hanni's mother's family basically getting kicked out.

Hanni said she hadn't talked to her mother since, but she did tell her father about us, and he was more than happy. I still haven't met him, but I'm sure he's a very nice person. Hanni also said she doesn't care about what her mother thinks anymore because her father is now here to protect her. He's been here for the past two weeks, and Hanni has never looked happier.

And now it was my turn to, you know, remove the last few complications left in our relationship, which is, well, my past. Hanni kept mentioning that she doesn't need to hear all the details if I wasn't okay with sharing them, but I promised her that there would be no more secrets.

Hanni sighed, "It's okay, Min. Just take your time, and just for the record, it doesn't need to be in a public café," Hanni said with a loving smile.

"I'll just do the trauma dump randomly, so be prepared," I said as I took a sip of the bitter coffee and laughed. Hanni didn't reciprocate; she just stared at me.

"You're so—"

"Cute? I know," I said with a grin on my face as my mouth adjusted to the terrible bitterness of the coffee.

"So are we just going to sit here?" Hanni asked, changing the subject.

"Well, what do you want to do?" I asked innocently.

"What do I want to do? Do to you?" Hanni replied with a smirk, not so innocently. It's safe to say I almost choked on my coffee.

"No, no. What do—what? Should we go for a walk?" I blurted. Hanni just laughed.

"Of course, let's go for a walk," Hanni said as she got up from her chair and extended a hand to me. I love the princess treatment.

The walk was calm, and neither of us spoke a single word as we walked hand in hand. Only the light sound of the busy traffic coming from outside the park we were in and the sounds of the slow wind could be heard. The silence was interrupted when Hanni decided to speak.

"What do you think the theme should be for my birthday party?" Hanni asked. Her birthday was in two days, and she decided to hold a mini party for it. I was more than excited, probably even more than her. I bought a present one week before it.

"Honey bees? Like yellow and black," I said. Hanni just looked at me for a few seconds before letting out a laugh.

"What? I think it's cute," I said with a frown as Hanni kept laughing.

"Oh, don't sulk now. I think it's really cute how you keep relating me to bees and all," she said as the laughter finally died down.

"So, is that a yes?" I asked.

"Yes, I'll do a yellow and black theme," Hanni said with a smile. Without another thought, I leaned in to kiss the smile. It was just a peck, but it took me way too much courage. When I backed away, I saw Hanni looking at me with a flustered face.
