Matthew

I wanted to join her but the investors I'm meeting have the great role for our international expansion and their time is limited kaya naman hindi pwedeng i-cancel.

I can't imagine how Gabby would feel. She very close to her grandparents and masakit sa kanya na may ganitong nangyayari sa lola niya ngayon.

"Anyway, we would be honoured to lead your international expansion this July, Mr. Sebastian."

"We're looking forward for this partnership. I'm glad we've worked things out." After a few more chats, I rushed to the parking lot para dumeretso ng Laguna kung saan naka-admit ang Lola ni Gabby. She told me via text message that her grandmother is in ICU. Her grandma had a heart attack and still unconscious.

Bumati ako sa lahat and after that, I hugged Gabby.

"How are you holding up?"  A tear fell from her eye. I hugged her tighter.

Hindi nagtagal, lumabas ang doctor from ICU.

"I have both good and bad news to crack. Ano po ang gusto niyong malaman?" Tanong ng doctor kay Papu.

"Good news."

"The good news is, your wife's awake and is stable now."

"And the bad one?" The doctor sighed deeply.

"Due to your wife's congenital heart disease and because of the heart attack, she cannot receive another open heart surgery. I've spoken to your family doctor and he told me that your wife had gone through two surgeries for the last 5 years and I'm afraid that surgery will not be the answer nor her maintenance." Napakapit si Papu sa daddy ni Gabby.

"You're saying...."

"Sir, I'm sorry but you only have two options. Option one, get her confined for as long as you can and option 2, bring her home and make the most out of your time together. Your wife can only live for the next 6 months. Neither of the two options can prolong your wife's life. Staying at the hospital can give you the whole 6 months of her life but we cannot promise anything more than that." Everyone burst into tears, especially Papu and Gabby. Even I shed tears. I can't believe it. I don't wanna believe it.

After the conversation with the doctor, ini-move na si Mama Chay sa isang private room and everyone's just waiting for her to wake up.

They discussed everything with Mama Chay and surprisingly, she's handling it really well. Alam niya raw na darating na talaga sa point na ganito pero wala raw siyang pinagsisisihan dahil she lived a great life. Even Papu's smiling. Hay, what an unconditional love.
