Chapter Two-Scene Three

Months more into the relationship, things were still going strong for Diamond and Chris. They have known each other for a little over a year now, been together for 4 months.
Diamond has started traveling for her business from L.A to Las Vegas to New York. She's now catered for a lot of different celebrities, music, actors and actresses etc. She was set to open her restaurant and her boutique after the tour was done.
Diamond had a lot of people to come out of the wood works once they found out she was getting married, they wanted to know who she was engaged too. But, Diamond was still private about her relationship she definitely didn't want to tell her family because they were so judgemental. But, of course she was invited to a family event in their family town of Terrell, Texas. In which she was not looking forward to going. She was sitting in her sleepers relaxing watching Netflix while the girls were at school when she got a call from a number she did not have saved in her phone. She sighed because she did not want to take the call, but she did.

Diamond

Diamond: Hello?
The caller: Hey, how you doing?
Diamond: I'm fine, who is this?
The caller: Jason.
Diamond: Oh hey, I don't have your number saved anymore.
Jason: Why don't you have my number saved anymore?
Diamond: Well, when you ghosted me and the girls, I got rid of your number.
Jason: Diamond, I haven't ghosted you guys.
Diamond: When you don't answer anyone's calls, text, social media messages then yep it is definitely a ghost.
Jason: I'm sorry you felt that way but it was not me ghosting you I've just needed a mental break.
Diamond: Right.
Jason: I did, Dia.
Diamond: Don't call me that, besides we both agreed if we needed a mental break that we would let one another know that.
Jason: You're right, I'm sorry.
I rolled my eyes, I was over this conversation.
Diamond: So what was the reason for your call?
Jason: Well I wanted to invite you out to this event I'm going to.
Diamond: What event?
Jason: it includes dinner and sort of show.
Diamond: When?
Jason: Well tomorrow night if you're not busy.
Diamond: Well I'm actually suppose to attend a show that evening.
Jason: Oh.
Diamond: Can I get back to you?
Jason: Yeah, yeah. That's cool.

Beep, Beep.

Diamond: Let me call you back I need to take this call.
Jason: Okay, cool.

I clicked over. It was Chris checking in on me.
Diamond: Hey baby.
Chris: Hey baby, how you feel?
Diamond: I'm fine, just chilling watching movies.
Chris: Are you still feeling sick?
Diamond: Just a little, having been vomiting since this morning.
Chris: Could it be something you ate?
Diamond: It's possible, from that place I went to.
Chris: Baby, do you want me to come home?
Diamond: No, Chris I'm fine you don't suppose to get here until tomorrow.
Chris: Baby I come early.
Diamond: No, I'm fine.
Chris: You sure?
Diamond: Babe.
Chris: Okay, baby I'm just saying.
Diamond: I know.
Chris: Babe, let me ask you something.
Diamond: Okay.
Chris: And don't chew my damn head off when I ask this okay?
Diamond: Ookkkay.
Chris: When was the last time you had your period? Or do you even have a period anymore?
Diamond: Yes, I still have a period Jerk.
Chris: I'm just saying baby, you never know this days.
Diamond: And to answer your question, my last period was......(thinks)
Chris: Babe?
Diamond: Umm...
Chris: Umm what?
Diamond: If I'm calculating right...it was...holy shyt.
Chris: Babe?
Diamond: (jumping up) Ummm....okay babe hold on.
I ran to my bathroom, looking through my things to find my calendar when I did I looked through it.
Diamond: Shyt.
Chris: Babe?
Diamond: im.....im......im....late.
Chris: Say what? How long?
Diamond: (sighs) a month.
Chris: Babbby.
Diamond: I knowww C.
Chris: That's it I'm coming home early.
Diamond: No you're not.
Chris: Ameila.
Diamond: Maurice, no.
He chuckled.
Diamond: hey changing the subject guess who I got a call from before you called.
Chris: Always changing the subject, who?
I giggled because he's right when he's right I always changed the subject.
Diamond: My friend Jason.
Chris: Oh best friend.
Diamond: Yeah.
Chris: What made him want to call? Did he hear about us?
Diamond: I don't think he heard about us, but he did say he wanted to invite me to a dinner a show after I called him out on ghosting us.
Chris: Did he apologize?
Diamond: He did.
Chris: Do you want to go?
Diamond: I don't know after being sick and finding out it's possible im pregnant, I don't know.
Chris: I say go.
Diamond: Really?
Chris: Yeah.
Diamond: Why?
Chris: To see if there still a friendship left to salvage I know how that feels to wonder if a friendship or relationship can be salvaged after a disagreement.

He was right, I do wonder if our friendship can be salvageable, we have been through this twice since we've known each other, I'm honestly getting to the point where there's no more room for trial and error in a friendship, it's either you'll all in this friendship or you're not........Period.

Chris: Baby?
Diamond: Yes, I'm here.
Chris: Where did you go?
Diamond: Just thinking.
Chris: About?
Diamond: How far I've come, to where I am now, how many people I excluded from my life and I'm still excluding people, because they either don't approve of those in my life or they don't approve of how I'm running my life.
Chris: Baby, you know that saying there are some meant to be in your life for all eternity and some are meant to be with you temporarily.
Diamond: You are right.

This is why I love him he gets me, we think the same, we feel the same on so many levels.

Chris: Hey baby let me get my stuff together so I can head out, imma hit you later on and tomorrow.
Diamond: Okay babe.
Chris: Let me know them results, please.
Diamond: I got you baby.
Chris: I love you, Nerd.
Diamond: I love you, Jerk.

He kissed me through the phone I blushed, he always knew how to make me smile and laugh. No other man, has made me feel the way he has, this short time we have known and been together. Eventually I texted Jason and told him I would go with him tomorrow night and I did take a test it did show that I was pregnant, scheduled a last minute appt with my Dr for the next morning. Told Chris he was definitely excited, and happy that I gave the friendship another try between Jason and I.
