I wasn't sure yellow was my color.

Honestly, I wasn't sure what my color was, but the silk gown with an asymmetrical open cut from the bra to the waist was a. . .lot. At least the majority of the gown covered any bruises I had and current recovering injuries -- Alice spared me in that regard compared to her sleek and open black cut dress on the leg sleeve. It was how revealing the dress was that had me nervous. Not to mention the skirt basically dragged along the floor. And I had to wear high heels.

Really, the whole thing was just a lot.

But I had to admit, it looked really good. I looked good, which was beyond a miracle on Alice's part. She had not only done my hair nicely, helping put in extensions and styling it in artful wispy layers, but paired it nicely with the dress. Going with a more, apparently natural look, Alice laid off the eyeshadow, only given my major protest against any heavy eye make up, and instead applied soft hues that complimented my pigment. The dress was already an attention grabber. I almost looked like some runway model -- almost.

With final touches, Alice made certain that a portion of my hair was at an angle so that it covered a puckered flesh of my still-healing scar, and after one more look over and forced me to do a little twirl to admire her work with evident satisfaction, finally I was able to escape the confines of the bathroom, Alice following closely behind. I moved into the hall -- which took mindful steps on my part since the floor was slippery and polished wood. The heels seemed to have a tendency to slip. I was careful, hand hovering on the wall that led down the stairs, other hand on rail. Alice stood readily to my right, hands outreached in case I fell.

As soon as I reached the staircase, my heart fluttered at the sight of Edward in a tux. Handsome never did him justice. Now it was inadequate, I might as well just call the sun hot.

From the foot of the stairs, his tawny gaze lifted to me. My pulse quickened at the the way his eyes widened at the sight of me before they ghosted my body up and down on multiple occasions. For the first time, I managed to catch the infamous vampire off guard, and such a revelation, had me feeling sweaty, proud, hot and extremely nervous.

Beside me, Alice hopped down the stairs before she came to stand beside Edward, positively beaming, and low and behold my worst fears -- she had a camera, "You look absolutely beautiful, El!"

"Thanks," I said, feeling awkward. I hadn't admitted to Alice, but this was the first time I ever wore a dress -- ever. It was -- breezy.

Footsteps moved from the living room to the hallway to join Alice and Edward. Kimi stopped beside Alice, Charlie following suit; Kimi immediately gasped, two hands coming to her mouth, and at first I thought she had a stroke until she let out an elated, "Well damn, for once you actually look like a woman. You outdid yourself Alice."
