After a long ride from the airport, we finally arrived home to find Julie passed out in the back seat. When we tried to carry her inside she woke up, insisting that she was fine to walk by herself, without her crutches. She did the same when we landed.

Asher was showing her around the house and getting her comfortable when I suddenly got a call from Asher.

"Mom," Ash greeted me.

He was never really the same after Julie disappeared and moved to Austin shortly after. He doesn't get to the farm often but it's nice when he does and he calls frequently so I guess I can't be too mad at him.

"Is that how you greet your mom?" I asked him playfully.

"Hi Mom," He greeted me again.

"Hello Ash," I greeted him back.

"Thomas told me he saw you earlier this week, in California," He said, hinting at me that I should defend myself.

"Oh that's nice, but it wasn't me. He probably mistook me for someone else," I said.

"He said he saw you with Dad, Mom," He said more sternly this time.

"Okay, your dad and I were there, but we felt like it wasn't the right time to tell you," I explained to him.

"Well, when did you think of telling me this news you thought I 'couldn't handle'?" I asked, getting more angrier.

"Look Ash, your father and I will call you tonight to explain everything," I promised.

"Okay, we'll talk then. Bye, Mom," he said and quickly hung up, not giving me time to greet him back.

I put my phone down on the coffee table in the living room and went to the kitchen where Mase was making everyone sandwiches for lunch.

"Who was it?" He asked as he plated our lunch.

"It was Ash. I'll tell you about it after lunch," I ended the conversation because I heard Axel and Julie coming towards the kitchen.

"I'm sorry, but I can't finish this," I apologised to them, specifically Mason. I've never had a big appetite, and after the attack, it's been difficult to eat but I'm trying.

"It's okay, sweetie," Stella reassured me. "Why don't you show her to her room, Asher?" She suggested.

Asher agreed and put his plate on the dining table before getting up to help me to my room.

We had to go up the stairs which took a while, especially with my crutches I decided to use for more support, but Asher was patient and helped me if needed.

We arrived at a room with a wooden J and a heart that was painted pink on the door. "Mom said she heard from your best friend that your favourite colour was pink. Um, we didn't decorate your room too much because we weren't sure what you liked, so feel free to decorate it the way you want." He scratched his neck nervously and then smiled.

"It is," I confirmed. "Thank you," And thanked him.

He opened the room and stepped in before me. There was everything I needed; a bed, a bedside table, a desk for studying and a beautiful white antique vanity

I stepped towards the vanity to get a closer look at it. I always thought these vanities were beautiful but couldn't afford it. But before I could think more about the vanity my thoughts were interrupted by Asher.

"It was Moms. You always wanted to help her get ready in the mornings, but she put it here after you disappeared," He explained.

"Oh," I whispered to myself. I didn't know what to say.

"Um, I'll leave you to get yourself comfortable," He said and left the room. I don't want to call it my room yet.

I made my way to the vanity and sat there taking a good look at myself. My hair was all over the place and I had dark circles underneath my eyes.

I went to bed and got under the covers to take a nap. I haven't slept well enough these last few days so it was the smarter decision to sleep now rather than being tired when I meet the rest of my brothers.

As I closed my eyes, I realised how thankful I was to finally be with the family I never knew I had. They seem like nice people, and Asher seems cool so far, so I couldn't wait to meet the rest of my brothers.
