Eleven-year-old Juliet made her way to John's room to wake him up.

He had asked her the previous day to wake him up at 8 a.m. sharp.

She arrived at his room and knocked twice, waiting for him to answer. But when he didn't she went inside his room to properly wake him up.

"John, i-it's 8 a.m. You have to w-wake up," She shook him lightly.

John groaned as he woke and glared at her. "What do you want girl?"

"You t-told me to w-wake you up yesterday, r-remember?" She asked him.

"Why would I tell some girl to wake me up? This early at that?" He hissed as he opened the curtain across his bed.

Juliet didn't know what to say. Why was he so angry at her? She thought. But for Juliet, this was a regular occurrence. John told her one thing and then completely denied it the next. She thought he'd get better over time but that just didn't happen.

"Well? Don't just stand there. Go make yourself useful and make me some breakfast," He hissed and held his throbbing head.

Juliet went to the kitchen and made breakfast for John and her, hoping he wouldn't be mad at her.

John entered the kitchen and went over to the two plates next to the stove.

"Oh, did my Juliet make me breakfast? Aww, you didn't have to," He said and ruffled her hair as he grabbed his plate.

What? She thought.

"Juliet! It's almost time for you to go to school! Eat your breakfast and get ready!" John exclaimed from the dining room.

Juliet ate her breakfast in the kitchen, afraid to ruin John's good mood and went to her room to get dressed for the day.

She got her school bag and placed her books inside including the lunch box she prepared the previous day.

Juliet then went to the living room to see John watching some TV.

"G-hoodbye J-John," She exclaimed and John mumbled something she couldn't hear.

She sighed, sad that his good mood vanished so quickly.

She stepped out of the house surprised to see her friend waiting on the front porch.

"Finally," She heard Chris say.

Even though she was confused by their sudden interest in walking with her to school she was glad she wasn't going alone anymore.

Her best friend, Christie, dragged her along the way talking about how annoying her brother was and her latest crush.
