Sorry for the long wait I've been busy with school so I barely had time to really think the plot through and make sure everything is perfect and on track ! (Sort of on track but I'll make it work, I promise)

I got an exam tomorrow, so I tried to hurry up editing and writing this (😭)

Hope you all are doing well and again I'm truly sorry. 🤍

Third Person

---

Hand in hand, Nia and Theodore sat beside each other in the helicopter. Nia leaned her head against Theodore's shoulder, the sound of the radio blending with the noise of the helicopter, keeping them both awake. The rhythmic thrum of the blades was almost soothing, but Nia's mind raced too much to relax.

Nia was nervous. After today, she didn't know what awaited her, and she couldn't shake the feeling that Theodore was hiding something. He seemed distracted by his phone half the night, which Nia didn't mind since, despite the distraction, his attention was always on her, and he kept the conversation going. Yet, there was a distance in his eyes that she couldn't bridge.

When the helicopter landed in DC, a jacket went over Nia's head as cameras clicked and her name echoed in the crowd. Flashes of light pierced through the fabric, and the loud voices made her heart race. Once inside the vehicle, Theodore pulled her close and kissed her forehead.

"I got you," he whispered, his voice a comforting balm amid the chaos.

To calm herself, Nia looked out the window, taking in the sights of Washington, which she hadn't seen in a while. The familiar landmarks passed by, each one a reminder of a world that felt distant. Her leg bounced nervously until Theodore's hand stilled it, his touch warm and reassuring. She met his eyes, and he kissed her forehead again.

"I love you," he whispered, and slowly, she drifted off to sleep.

When Nia woke, she found herself lying on Theodore's lap in the vehicle. "Morning, my love," he said, pressing his lips to her forehead. The warmth of his breath on her skin was soothing. Ten minutes later, the vehicle stopped, and both sides of the door opened. Nia's heels clicked against the tiles as she and Theodore, hands intertwined, walked into the building.

Inside, Nia recognized one of the agents who had been staring at her during the ride. His stern face softened when their eyes met. Once the elevator stopped, Theodore wrapped his arm around her waist and guided her to a room.

He opened the door and gestured for her to step inside.

Nia was starstruck by the beautifully decorated room and the breathtaking view of the city. The sunlight streamed through large windows, casting a golden glow on the elegant furnishings. As the door closed, she turned to see Theodore smiling at her. "Beautiful, isn't it?"

Nia nodded, and Theodore led her into the living room. From the corner of her eye, she saw three figures emerging from a bedroom. "Surprise!" they yelled. It was his mother, his sister, and someone Nia hadn't expected to see.

Theodore chuckled and hugged his mother tightly. "Thanks for being here, Mom."

"That's what family is for," she replied warmly, her eyes crinkling with joy.
