It's been three days since I woke up and my defiance seemed to be annoying a certain someone, it's been fifteen days since I had anything to eat. We have been taking turns keeping watch as the other rested, we were going to need all the strength we had when we blow this popsicle stand. The first day no one came in until later in the day, they took one look at me before heading back out. West made an appearance at the same time as the day before, he was still smiling that creepy smile but didn't say anything just watched me for a while before heading back out. They sent in a meal for the boy, the tray had even less food then that day before. It seemed that they truly were starving this poor boy, the boy ate slowly before handing the tray back and hurrying away from the bars. The second day was almost exactly the same beside when West came in he lost his smile when he realized I was still wearing my white coat and not my human skin. The same man came in with the tray of food, I watched as he slide it across the floor between the bars. He seemed cautious of being too close, of putting his arm too far in, he was afraid of me.
Well now we're back where we were currently are, West didn't come by today but that didn't mean much seeing as there were three men standing outside the cell with what looked to be whips. Two of the men stepped into the cell while the third stayed out to lock the cell door, I stood growling lowly as I shielded the boy. Not that I thought they were coming to inflict harm on him, they had come to teach me a lesson for disobeying their leader. My teeth were bared as I watched them before the crack of the whip rang out and struck my flesh. My jaw snapped as I moved slightly, if they thought this was going to break me they were mistaken. Three, four, six, the whip cracked against my skin, I could feel a rage building inside. A familiar feeling crept in, the lights in the cell began to flicker. The bulb shattered as the man readied his whip again, just as he moved to strike a bolt of electricity shot from the broken bulb frying both men in the cell. Their bodies steamed giving off a nasty oder, there was enough electricity coursed through their bodies to kill a fully grown elephant but it left no marks on the ground like it had done in the clearing. I was gaining control of this power I have, the man that remained outside the door looked terrified. He bolted out of the room as quickly as he could, my body ached and wasn't healing as fast due to the lack of food and proper care normally available. I slowly lowered to the ground, the boy cried as he clung to me. I took a few moment to look around the area outside of my cell, it looked like there was another cell across the way. I thought I could make out figures in the cell but wasn't sure, they kept the cells pretty dark so there could be a number of people in there or none at all.
"Why'd you wait so long to fry those pricks? You could have done that right when they entered the cell or make even before they did." Lily complained as she surfaced for the first time in six hours, I rolled my eyes as I laid there. My white fur turning red with my blood, I could feel my body trying to heal the wounds that had be afflicted on me.
"I didn't know if I could control the output, I was afraid I might use to much power and end up hurting the boy..." I heard her huff slightly as relaxed, I know she had her doubts about this kid but for some weird reason we both felt inclined to help him. Maybe it was because he was just a little boy, ever since my mother died I think I've been trying to make up for not being strong enough back than by helping those who need it. Usually it's children who need the most help, be it just getting their kite out of a tree or helping the cross the road or defend they against attack.
My mind had started processing the layout of the room, noting the possible exit points and what I could use to my advantage when escaping this hell hole. My ears perked up as the sound of the door squeaking open, I lifted my head my fangs bared. A taller man entered the room with a chain in his hand, at first I thought he was going to use that chain on me but than the chain tightened before he pulled on it. It took a moment before a woman came into view, her hair was snow white and about shoulder length. I was on my feet in seconds, the man pulled her hard causing her to stumble. The woman stood no more then five foot six, her hands were cuffed in front of her with another chain connecting up to what looked like a dog collar. She was skinny but not underweight, just the sight of her had my fur up on ends. The man pulling her along was at least six four and pushing two hundred pounds, he had the clear advantage over her especially in her current condition. The man pulled her way from the cells and towards the center of the room without so much of a word, it was long after that West came in but he didn't stop by my cell this time. He walked straight over the the woman in chains, his fingers grabbed her chin roughly I imagine he was smiling. He turned to my cell now as he released his hold on the woman's face, he's face was twisted into a sickening grin.
"Do you know why we went to the trouble of capturing you instead of just killing you my dear sweet snowflake. Well let me enlighten you, you see we know your blessed by the moon goddess but so is everyone else who walks beneath the moonlight claiming her as their goddess. You, and everyone else who bears the same marking, are what she likes to call her chosen. The ones she gifts powers that no other wolf has, to protect the balance. Well you see my sweet giving you all white hair, wolves as white as snow and larger than normal wolves causes you all to stick out. Easy targets to pick out, especially when your ripe and flowing with power. Those with the power given by the moon goddess are said to give birth to offspring with incredible power, and if you mix in the dark magic we possess... well you see where I'm going with this, we've been very lucky to have quite a few chosen fall into our laps but some of them haven't been very honest..." West walked towards my cell, slowly, deliberately, he was planning something. Pushing the boy back away from the bars, through the pain I stood there was no way I was going to let him do as he pleased. Especially not to me or this kid, never thought bad guys actually did that whole explain the plan thing. If he tried to come in here he'll get just what those other two got, but he stopped just outside the cell leering at me. "It's a shame you haven't came to your senses yet, it would be so much better, easier if you just gave in. But that doesn't matter because we will break you one way or other."
With that he walked back some before snapping his fingers as one of his men rushed over, he whispered orders to him before looking at me one last time before leaving the room. The man smirked at me before turning and heading towards the woman they had just brought in. My stomach tightened because of the lack of food or because I knew what was coming, I did not know. The woman thrashed smacking the guys chest, her chains flung around as she fought against the man. I caught a glimpse of her face for the first time since she entered the room, my stomach turned again as something worse than rage built in the pit of my stomach. This wasn't going to be my fate and I'd be damned if these people would have to live another day like this, a sense of recognition came over me and I...
Howled.
