Catalina's POV

I sat up in my room after I unpacked everything, staring up at the ceiling so many things could go wrong tomorrow. The alpha could tell me to get lost or go back to the Red Dawn pack, he could kill me just for coming here without getting his permission before crossing the packs border. He was the alpha of the Crimson Blood pack, there have been many rumors going around about how powerful he is and at such a young age. Shane Maverick Matthews, his name alone left an impression. I sighed as I fell down on the bed, my face pressed against the covers. My mind wouldn't stop with all the things that could go wrong, and even if he let's me stay would he let me join, would the pack like me or would it be the same as the Red Dawn pack. I closed my eyes as I sighed again, too much to think about and my body still hurt from my first shift. I slowly began to drift to sleep, still in the clothes I left in.

The next morning I awoke early, before the sun even rose on the horizon. I grabbed some clothes before I moved to the bathroom. I stripped out of my clothes and started the water, I looked at myself in the mirror as the water heated up. I wasn't as beautiful as Jessica the slut Mason chose over me but I wasn't ugly either, my arms are lean and my body had curves in the right places as some guys would say. I wasn't fat so I didn't understand, well there was one reason I could think of. He had been sleeping with Jessica since he turned sixteen, he claimed her to be his mate and didn't want to look stupid and didn't want the hassle. I shook my head as I moved to the shower slipping into the water, I let it the water flow over me. I washed my hair slowly as I closed my eyes, I let my mind drift for a moment to what might have been. Before I growled lowly shaking my head as I rinsed my hair and washed my body. I shut the water off grabbing my towel before I wrapped it around my body. I wiped the mirror off as I smiled at myself, I went out of the bathroom back into my bedroom. I went to the dresser to pick out my clothes, I looked through my clothes carefully. Nothing seemed good enough until I reached the bottom of the stack of clothes. There was a light yellow sundress neatly folded there, I pulled it out as I smiled holding it in front of my body as I looked at the full body mirror in the corner of the room. I decided quickly as my aunt called me down for breakfast, I dressed before turning to the door and headed down stairs. The dress stopped just before my knees, it tied around my neck cutting down the front in a V-shape. I wore my yellow flip flops that matched the dress pretty well then I walked into the dining room, I heard a couple gasps, a holy shit, and a damn girl.

Blushing I brushed them off as I sat at the table, my plate was already made before I got there. The boys had already scarfed their food down, Bella looked around the table at me and I smiled softly. I didn't need her worrying about me anymore than she already was. Yes my mate had rejected me and yes there was nothing I could do about that but I could try and be happy. I slowly began to eat my food, I was still nervous about the meeting today. Something in the pit of my stomach twisted and turned. I closed my eyes for a moment as I enjoyed the meal auntie had made, slowly all of my cousins began to get up and kiss their mother before they headed off to school and work. Aunt Mandy and I finished eating before we did the dishes, she smiled saying it was time to head out. My heart pounded as we walked through the house to the garage to the car. I looked out at the window as she drove out of the garage and down the driveway, the trees were lush and green. They were beautiful, the pure kind, as the fog laid heavy on the ground between the trees. As we drove a long the road the trees got thicker and so did the fog, miles of road past until the trees thinned and I seen the most beautiful lake, the fog slowly creeping over the water in a way you could only describe as mystic and gorgeous..

"Aunt Mandy what's that lake over there?" I pointed as I looked over at her, the water glistened as the light hit the water. It was breathtakingly beautiful, it was almost hard to take my eyes from the view.
