The Magician's Assistant.
Nameless to all except the Magician himself.
She is known to those who watch her shows,
As whatever the Magician decides to call her.
She is named only when the Magician deems it so.
She is named only what the Magician claims her as.
She has no power to the eyes of most.
She has no purpose without his show.
But her purpose isn't to act as his support.
Her purpose is to make him look good.
She does the heavy lifting.
Hides when he wishes her vanished.
Falls apart when he wishes her in half.
Saves herself when his knives wish not to kill her.
She is the one making him look good.
She acts behind the scenes,
While in front of a crowd.
Imagine how much skill it takes to do what she does
While intentionally trying to not steal the show.
Although remember, it's the magician who controls the narrative.
His greatest power is his ability to talk.
His greatest asset is his mastery of deceit.
Maybe it's not always the assistants desire to appear lesser?
To appear dormant...
Maybe it's just that the Magician is stealing the show from the one truly controlling it?
