The gentle light of dawn filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the kitchen where Sia worked diligently, her hands moving with practiced ease as she chopped vegetables for breakfast. It was Sunday, and as usual, Sia had risen early to prepare a hearty meal for her family.
As she worked, lost in the rhythm of her tasks, the doorbell rang, breaking the stillness of the morning. Wiping her hands on her apron, Sia hurried to answer the door, finding her neighbor, Brie, standing on the doorstep with a warm smile.
"Good morning, Sia,"
Brie greeted, her eyes bright with the promise of a new day.
"Good morning, Brie,"
Sia replied, returning the smile as she ushered her neighbor inside. They exchanged pleasantries as Sia led Brie to the cozy living room, where they settled onto the couch.
Brie glanced around the quiet house, her curiosity piqued.
"Where is Jungkook and the kids?"
she asked, noticing the absence of the usual morning chaos.
Sia chuckled softly.
"They're still sleeping,"
she explained with a fond smile, gesturing toward the staircase leading to the upper floor.
“Let me help you sweetie"
Brie offered to lend a hand, and Sia graciously accepted, leading her neighbor into the bustling kitchen. Over the years, their bond had grown strong, forged through shared laughter and shared burdens.
As they worked side by side, the air filled with the aroma of sizzling bacon and brewing coffee, they indulged in light-hearted gossip, their laughter mingling with the clatter of pots and pans.
Suddenly, the shrill ring of Sia's phone pierced the air, startling them both. With a quick apology, Sia darted out of the kitchen to answer the call, her heart racing with apprehension.
Minutes passed before Sia returned, her expression drawn and troubled. Brie immediately noticed the change in her friend's demeanor and voiced her concern.
"What happened, Sia? You look sad,"
Brie observed, her voice filled with empathy.
Sia sighed heavily, her shoulders slumping in defeat.
"I got a call from my school,"
she explained, her voice tinged with disappointment.
"There's an urgent meeting today, and I have to go."
Brie frowned in sympathy, her heart going out to her friend.
"Didn't they inform you about the meeting beforehand?"
she asked, puzzled by the sudden change in plans.
"No, they didn't,"
Sia replied with a sigh.
"It's never happened before. They usually hold meetings on weekdays and always inform us in advance."
Brie reached out to squeeze Sia's hand in reassurance.
"It's okay, Sia. It must be something important for them to hold a sudden meeting. Don't worry, everything will be okay.”
Sia nodded her head in response.
Jungkook and the kids sat waiting for breakfast. Kiyan, engrossed in a game on his phone, looked up with a spark of excitement as he saw Sia emerge from the kitchen, her hands full with dishes of their morning meal.
