I woke up the next day in my room, not knowing how I got there. Disoriented, I sighed deeply and got up, only to be greeted by a horrifying sight. Eyeballs were scattered on the floor, and the room was filled with blood.

"Just great," I muttered to myself. "My room is a big mess."

I stepped onto the bloody floor, expecting to feel the wetness beneath my feet, but strangely, I felt nothing. Even the eyeballs didn't seem to make any contact with my skin. I blinked hard, and suddenly, the gruesome scene vanished, replaced by the normalcy of my room. Confused, I looked around to see if everything was in its place. On my bedside table, I noticed a letter sealed with wax. Curiosity piqued, I broke the seal and opened the letter.

Inside was a silly drawing of a stick man with a broken neck, hanging from a rope, with two red Xs for eyes. Despite the macabre nature of the drawing, it brought a smile to my face. I placed it carefully on my notebook. Today was an important day,  I had a date.

I got ready, taking extra care with my appearance. My head still felt a bit foggy, but I brushed it off, focusing on the task at hand. Once I was satisfied with how I looked, I headed downstairs to the dining room. Yori and Luka were already there. Yori wore his usual empty smile, while Luka, looking sad as usual, brightened a little when he saw me.

"Good morning," I greeted, taking my seat at the table.

"Here you go, Miss Y/n," Yori said, handing me a plate.

"Thanks, Yori," I replied, then added with a smile, "Oh, and thanks for the drawing you gave me. It's an honor to get art personally created by such a creative artist."

Yori's smile faltered slightly, and he looked at me through his long eyelashes. "Yes, I'm glad that you like my art," he said, his voice smooth but with a hint of something I couldn't quite place.

I mimicked his smile as accurately as possible. "It's very unique. You have quite the imagination," I continued, maintaining the casual tone.

Luka watched the exchange quietly, his eyes darting between us. "So, Y/n, do you have any plans for today?" he asked, trying to sound cheerful but failing to mask his concern.

I nodded. "Actually, yes. I have a date," I announced, noticing the flicker of emotion in Yori's eyes.

"A date?" Luka echoed, clearly surprised.

"Yes, with Dr. Suting," I replied. "He invited me yesterday."

Luka's surprise turned into a forced smile. "That's great. I hope you have a good time."

Yori's gaze intensified. "A date with Dr. Suting," he repeated slowly. "Interesting choice."

"Is it?" I asked lightly, though the tension in the room was palpable.

"Well, he's certainly an interesting man," Yori replied cryptically.

As I sat at the table eating breakfast, everything seemed the same as usual, yet I couldn't shake the strange feeling that lingered within me. It was as if something had shifted, leaving me feeling both unsettled and strangely renewed.

The rest of the day passed in a blur as I packed for the upcoming winter break. I only took a few essentials, knowing that I didn't have a home to return to. The less I carried, the better.

Before I knew it, it was time for my date. I slipped into the beautiful dress that Dr. Suting had given me, marveling at how it perfectly matched my skin tone. The accessories – bracelet, earrings, necklace – added a touch of elegance, and Dr. Suting had even thought to include a shawl to keep me warm.

He certainly had a good fashion sense, I mused. But then again, it was to be expected from someone who was known to be a womanizer. No doubt he spent a lot of time around women.
