Chapter 7

-??? pov-

It has been too long and I will not stay back anymore. He does not deserve me and I am not going to keep waiting while he ignores my needs. I need something more than just blind following. We used to be in love and now...now he just is here.

He does not look at me the same anymore. He barely even touches me when we are alone. I have tried to get the spark back. I am just tired of trying but it not working. He has a new woman now and it is his work.

That and the secretary he hired at the tower. I was against it but the others agreed to it. The slut walks in barely dressed and always flirting. She does not do her job at all but I get in trouble for mistakes.

So I am done with the bullshit. I am going out and if I can find a suitable replacement then I am going to live with them. Cause I refuse to stay where I am not wanted!

"Let us think about this!" I turn and glare at my husband "Is it Lucy? I can move Lucy!"

"Notice move not fire" I scoff and shake my head "Goodbye asshole!"

I ignore the pleading and leave the building. I have my suitcase in hand and a smile on my face. Life is about to get good and I am ready for it! Here is to a new start on my life!

-time skip-

"LET GO OF MY BAG!" I am holding onto my suitcase tightly "HELP! SOMEONE HELP!"

"SHUT UP!" Before I can protect myself I am hit in the back of my head with some heavy object "Get her stuff! Come oonnnnn!"

I hear a commotion going on but have no clue what is going on currently. I slowly try to get up as I hear someone go flying into a trash bin. I groan as I feel the back of my head and that bump forming. I turn over on my back to see Spider-Man standing above me.

-Stephanie pov-

"So this is what we are dealing with?" Wanda nods and I sigh "This is bigger than what either of us could have predicted"

"It is not an incursion though" Sylvie taps a few buttons before a new screen is up "Kang was defeated twice and we have pin pointed the location of the others"

"So let's get to them" Bucky grabs a set of keys "Clint you and me will go"

"Even better" I focus on the pictures and location to open a portal "Uh this can not be right"

I open the portal a few more times to the same result. Empty space and floating bodies. Sylvie pulls one to us and we wait for he response. Her reaction tells us that the body is who we were supposed to fear.

"This is a kang" We all look in worry as she seems to be very afraid "TOSS IT BACK! IT COULD TRACK THEM!"

"Shit" Sam quickly grabs the frozen body and tosses it as I close the portal "What the hell was that?!"

"The planet was gone and there were dead bodies in space!" Wanda is holding a shaking Sylvie "What do you know dear?"

"We are not safe" We all turn toward the doorway to see Bucky with a gun pointed toward a helmeted guy and Starlord "Speak now Nova"

"I am the last from my crew and people" The guy takes off the helmet to reveal a young boy "The devourer of planets and worlds is coming for Earth"

"What do you mean son?" Clint motions for Bucky to lower the gun "We are friends kid"

"I was with him" Nova looks at the ground "My name is Sam and I was taught by a man name Richard.....my corp was killed after a deal went wrong and Richard betrayed us to the man he named a god"

"Do you think we have not beaten gods before?" Sam crosses his arms and smiles "We have Stark satellites we can get early alerts"

"Watch this" Starlord tosses Sam a drive "Trust me"

Sam puts the drive in and the room goes dark. We watch as people run and scream. Energy beams are shot and innocent people die. Children and pregnant women cut down like crops.

I feel sick as it continues going on and some people try flying toward the attacker. It is all for not as the man in Sam's gear attacks them quicker. The man gets closer and stops before the camera. He leans down with a frown on his face.

"Run Sam" The man pushes Sam "RUN!"

"Turn it off" We hear Clint but it stays on as a giant shadow appears "TURN IT THE FUCK OFF NOW!"

The lights kick on as the video ends. We are all in silence as Clint holds onto a crying Sam. This is not a Thanos threat like we thought. This is something much bigger and much worse.

"Everyone go home" Natasha is the first to speak after what feels like hours "We will reconvene in a few days" 

No one says a thing as we all walk out of the meeting room. I look at Wanda who is just spaced out. I grab her hand as I open a portal for us. We go through and just stand there for a few minutes.

"GIRLS!" We both jump and see a concerned Christine "Who is the friend and are you two ok?"

"Friend?" We both turn to see Sylvie "You came with us?"

"I-I needed company" I pull her into me and she starts shaking again "I am not a bad person"

"No you are good" I rub her back as sobs start to break out "You are good"

Things may not actually be looking up like I hoped.

-??? Pov-

I groans as I look up to see a hospital light on above me. I sit up with some head pain. I look to see Spider-Man beside my chair and my husband as well. I roll my eyes as they notice me awake.

"Go away Reed" I see him slump some "I have no reason to talk to you"

"You could have died cause you are not thinking very clearly" We both look at Spider-Man "Just talk ok? You may realize things just need said"

"Fine and thank you" He nods and then leaves us "So wanna speak?"

"Let us start from the beginning and worst comes to worst we go to friends right?" I smile for the first time in a while from his words "Now let us talk"
