When he opened his eyes he immediately began looking for Kayla. She shot up and panted. Her old clothes were replaced by a pair of black overalls with a purple long sleeve shirt, combat boots, a jacket and a backpack that looked exactly like the one worn by Ezra in spark of rebellion from star wars rebels. On Nick was the same pair of combat boots, and a backpack. His get up looked exactly like the one Ezra wore in spark of rebellion, only red. His vest looked like Ezra's only grayish silver, and blank. He had a blaster attached to his leg. Kayla had a knife attached to her bag.
"It's good to see you back Nick and Kayla. I hoped you'd return." He turned around pushing his sister behind him. A hooded figure with two hilts. They pulled down the hood revealing a very familiar face one they could trust. "Ashoka!" Cried Kayla seeing her favorite former Jedi in front of her. While Kayla was looking at a small loth-cat Ashoka explained that their parents were not their real parents and were from a different universe, the one they were in right now. She explained that they had a powerful gift. "You're force sensitive. I have a feeling you know what that means." Nick nodded.
Kayla's laughter brought them back to the present. Nick was very happy to see a true smile on Kayla's face. He called her over. Before Ashoka left she said to find their true family. She turned around about to leave when she heard Kayla ask, "Can I become as confident as you one day?" She turned around and walked to Kayla talking her hands in her own. "I know you can. You just need to allow it to happen." She turned and heard " May the force be with you." The woman returned the saying and disappeared into the plains.
They heard a loud medium pitched howling. They looked up and saw TIE fighters fly overhead. "What are tie fighters doing out this far?" She didn't know, she knew who would be near by. "Nothing good." Nick answered Kayla looked him in the eye. But where's there's bucket-heads there's rebels. Kayla thought. She got up and sped toward town with Nick running after her. But when they came to the market, Nick grabbed Kayla by her bag, and yanked her out of the view of the stormtroopers. Nick was standing behind her, holding her in place. Soon after Ezra came to mess with the troops. "Hey Mr spare a jogan?" He asked innocently. The officers just told him "Move along loth-rat." He told them "sorry, sorry not looking for trouble."Nick felt the bag loosen in his grip. Oh no, Kayla! He thought. This kid was crafty. Very crafty. He spotted his sister walking towards the imperials. She kicked one of them. They were both about to react when their coms chimed. After they were gone Ezra came out holding a small round metal object. He looked over Kayla and pulled her up. Nick breathed a sigh of relief. He came out of his hiding place and walked over to them. "Thank you for helping her." He said. "I'm Nick, and this little trouble maker is Kayla." He said ruffling the girls hair. The blue haired boy said his name was Ezra. "Can we see what the impearl goons thought of Ezra trick??" Kayla asked. Nick nodded. The three of them went to find the officers. They hid behind some crates, so they could see the officers but they couldn't see them.
Suddenly they felt like they were being watched. Kayla looked around and saw Kanan Jaurrus in the street. He looked around as if he was about to find them. He shook his head and walked past Zeb and Sabine. Stopping and tapping his leg twice. Sabine tossed something metal and blinking on a speeder bike. The driver tried to go after her but stopped.
Kayla felt a hand on her head pushing her down. She cooperated. A few seconds later, the blinking whinnying object blew up, causing Kayla to smirk to herself. She followed Ezra who was motioning for her to ride the speeder bike with him, hoping in front of the boy. They were chased through the market and into the fields. A tie shot them off the bike, sending them tumbling onto the grass. Pushing herself up, she was grabbed from behind! They lifted her in the air. She started screaming, stranger danger instincts kicking in. Nick saw her struggling and trying to get Zeb to put her down. Something struck the back of her head. Kayla was knocked unconscious. When she woke up she had a big headache. The ghost crew - minus Hera- was standing over her. "Did you have to hit her so hard?" Sabine snipped. "It's not my fault she didn't cooperate, how was I supposed to know that she would scream?" "Ever heard of stranger- danger? It's one of the first things kids are taught!" Nick firedback with a sarcastic tone. "I think shes coming to, kid, can you hear me?!" Kanan asked. Kayla sat up. Nick hugged her tight. Ezra was standing there with his arms crossed and was leaning against the doorframe. "You two aren't from around here, are you?" He asked. Nick his shook his head. "We're from Batuu a smaller other rim comunity." Kayla explained. They walked in on Zeb throwing Ezra in a closet. When they reached the cockpit they were just entering hyperspace and Kayla was amazed by it. "Wow!" Was all Kayla could say.
"Well now who do we have here?" The female twel'k pilot asked giving the siblings a small smile. "Wait right now with impels chasing us?!" Ezra yelled "Calm down we lost the ties when we jumped and the ghost can scramble its signature, so they won't recognize us when we return." Hera told him. Now Ezra got a good look at the other two kids, the girl looked familiar and so did the boy. The girl had a blue tint on her hair. The boy had eyes identical to his own. They couldn't be older than sixteen and thirteen. "Oh! That's right, I'm Nick and this is my younger sister, Kayla." He explained.
She flinched violently when a hand was placed on her shoulder. She was relieved to see the face of Kanan Jarrus. His grey eyes seemed to be searching for something. He looked up at the boys and back to her.
He then turned around and walked out to the cargo bay. They walked out to a small makeshift town. "Lived on lothal my whole life. Never been here." Ezra told them. Sabine and Zeb explained "The imperials don't advertise it. Locals call it tarkin town. Named for grand moph tarkin governor of the outer rim. He kicked these folks off their farms when the empire wanted the land." "Anyone who fought back got arrested for treason, right?" Kayla chirped. The two nodded. Suddenly zeb grabbed her and took her and the two boys to the kitchen. She was watching the lassat tell the old C-1 to watch the three. "If they try anything sound the alarm. Or shoot them." "I think I'll taze her instead." He grumbled. "Shush just watch them." Kayla listened, but the boys eh, not so much. They were already in the vents. She rolled her eyes. "Not 20 minutes after they met and they're already in trouble." She mumbled shaking her head. The door opened to reveal the mandolarian girl in front of her. She shrugged and said "I've been here the whole time. Let me guess: you found the boys eavesdropping on your conversation?" Sabine nodded and led her to the cockpit. The two boys were sitting next to each other looking guilty. The girl plopped down on the floor in front of them.
The old c1 unit droid rolled over beside her. He grumbled something about her brothers being trouble makers. "Who Nick? Nah he doesn't get to do this often, as for Ezra he isn't my brother." She said. She knew what happened next and went to get the adults. Hera heard the pattering of boots on the floor, coming towards the cockpit. A few seconds later the door opened to show the girl.
She leaned against the doorframe. "My brother and the boy are in Kannan's room, just a heads up." She said. She followed the two of them to the room where they were. Kayla trailed behind the adults. The door opened to reveal the boys holding a blue lightsaber. "Careful. You'll cut your arm off." The ponytailed male warned. "I know you're not going to believe us but it's like this thing wanted us to find it" "you're right I don't believe you. Now give me the lightsaber." "Lightsaber, but isn't that the weapon of the Jedi?" Ezra questions. "Give it to me and get out." He snaps.
Nick shot a death glare at his smirking sister. He knew that she told them off. "KAYLA! YOU ARE SO DEAD!" Her green eyes went wide with alarm. She tried to scramble to safety. She was running out of space when she looked up and smiled. She jumped into the vents. The boy who was on her tail admitted defeat. "You win this round Kay." He then left and the girl soon crawled out of the shaft. "You pulled a Hawkeye again didn't you?" Nick asked leaning against the doorframe. That was nick's name for when she jumped into the vents. She face-palmed and nodded. He just laughed.
The droid of the ghost was already attached to the mysterious girl, thought she and him would get along well. And he wasn't afraid to show it. He rolled beside her happily. As they passed the lassat chopper shocked him. Kayla smiled, "Chopper I think you and I are going to get along just fine." She added. She sat down in the Sabines chair and watched the stars. An image flashed through her mind. Three kids, two boys one girl. And strangely they looked familiar. She just couldn't place her finger on it. But she, alone with her brother would find out, that their twin/older brother was right there with them, bond and all.Hi everyone Riyapurpleprism here! This is an idea that I have been working on for a while now. I would love to hear your thoughts about this. Clues are in bold italics. Who do you think Kanan knows about these three kids? Let me know what your thoughts are!
