Shivali's POV

"Mummy, it's getting dark outside" Agastya said out of nowhere and I turned to pass him a confused glance but understood immediately looking at his expression. I raised my palm towards my face trying to hide the smile

Mummy ji's friends had occupied the couch and even the dining chairs. I sat in the middle of two of mummy ji's friends who were laughing shrilly at something. They had been discussing things which were anything but fun

"I was just saying it out loud for everyone, just general knowledge" Agastya said dragging a glass in his direction and sipping the water. I wiped under my nose stifling the laughter. Agastya caught my eyes and sneakily winked while I had to bite my tongue

"It is quite late and I suppose Shivali would want to get dressed for the night" Mishita's mother said and I was quite relived for that because I really wanted to pry my ears off of me if the conversation continued

"Oh, she doesn't need to change. It's not like her clothes will matter" one of the aunties said moving her hand in front of her face. I opened my eyes wide as the meaning behind her words registered in my brain

"Devesh is not gonna stop just on account of her clothes" Other one said laughing and I licked my lips, ducked my head out of sight bringing a pillow closer to my face. I should have made the run on the aisle on the wedding

"Anyways it isn't like it would be there first night" the first aunty again said and my eyes went round. My fingers fiddled with my ring while I glowered at the floor hoping it can open right now and just swallow me whole

"Vinita" Maa said in a stern manner and Vinita aunty just chuckled and again moved her hand in front of her face. Vinita aunty pushed her elbow in Maa's hand passing her a sneaky expression and I scrunched my nose

"What? As if you didn't see them holding hands when they entered yesterday and whispering in each other's ear in the morning" Vinita aunty said in a squeaky voice and my breath hitched in my throat.

I looked around severely embarrassed as almost all the aunties started making comments about Devesh ji and I. I jiggled my foot before scratching below my eyes trying to get my nerves under control anywho

"Beside kids these days aren't that shy and all. Even in arrange marriage, they get close before the wedding" The other aunty said and passed me look wiggling her eyes. I forced a smile and started playing with my ring again trying to zone them out

"Yes, Shweta. You don't have to worry so much, they looked quite close in the morning with each other" Another one of the aunties said and I resisted the urge to growl in her direction. I clicked my tongue on the roof of my mouth

"They had their hands all over each other in the morning. I think you will become Daddi in just some months" Vinita aunty said again and this time I wasn't able to hide my displeasure from my face

"Bhabhi, let's head to your room. I will help you change and everything" Mishita said coming from behind me and I looked at her taking a deep breath. She held her hand out in front of me and I held it getting up

I looked at her with a grateful expression as she ushered me out of the hall and upstairs, ignoring everyone's word from behind us. I sighed and rested on the wall nearby as soon as we reached upstairs

"What was happening downstairs? And why?" I asked looking flabbergasted at Mishita and she smiled as she shrugged lightly before I kicked my feet and started walking towards the room. I stopped on the threshold as Mishita clicked open the door

"I don't know. I just entered the hall, I was lying dead in the guest room until some minutes ago" she said pointing towards the door leading to the guest room and I nodded my head.
