How do you benchmark the perfect guy? Is it solely based on his dreamy features, well-built exterior, chiselled jawline, toned body, and broad shoulders? Could it be the cadence of his speech? Or his sense of chivalry when he picks you up at the door with a bouquet?

Is it measured by how massive the swarms of butterflies enter your stomach as he enters the room without doing anything? So, what exactly constitutes the perfect man?

Traditionalists might say that a perfect man brings food to the table, protects his family, and is an exemplary figure to his children. I would think that the same man, while he provides all that, can still cheat on his wife. Progressionists probably would counter this by saying, "Hey, it's no big deal, as long as everyone's happy!" It's like you have to accept the fact that cheating now IS one of the modern 'ways of life'.

I noticed how society these days has redefined love as something more 'convenient' rather than 'to die for'. No more travelling a distance to meet your loved ones, no more regular check-ins to see how each other is coping with the endless pressures in life, no more hours spent creating surprises, no more taking breaks for a romantic getaway, no more cooking meals for each other, no more late-night phone calls, basically no more doing anything.

This world has become a façade where people do "sweet gestures" just for the Gram. People are too absorbed in their ways these days as if they'd only do something outside if the parking spot is right in front of their noses. It's sad to see romance and genuine interaction losing value and appreciation. Nobody writes heartfelt love letters anymore unless you count Taylor Swift.

It's no wonder women are getting plastic surgeries to restructure their God-given looks to make men look at them. Almost every song on the radio now only talks about 'booty' 'lips' 'boobs' and 'sex'. It is as if we are living in animal herds or something. That's why I prefer to live as an old soul who enjoys listening to the oldies, reminding me of a period when I never existed but true romance once did.
