At first it was hard, going from an able body to no longer being able to get out of bed mostly due to pain, depression or even no motivation, looking up at my ceiling the white canvas staring back at me, my body ached from the hole that was left within my heart. Feeling each beat within my chest, as my body sank within my bed, I want to disappear, I want the pain to leave my body. I do not know how long I have been laying here, time seems to be nonexistent, nor does it really matter now that you are gone. Feeling the fabric of the collar you once wore, rubbing my fingers and feeling your metal tags between them. The loud rawer rang through my ears, 'it hasn't stopped raining' whispering softly into the air while slowly shifting my puffy pink eyes to the window seeing the clouds forming darker than my soul upon this day.

Wishing you would walk back in the door to cheer me up like you used to. I know if I close my eyes, I can see your face. The events of your life flash through my mind remembering everything that we have been through together, feeling myself fall into my mind as if going back in time to hold you once again. A dream that will never come true, feeling the darkness consume my mind, 'come back Ciel' I thought before complete darkness took over my body.

The smell of fresh cut grass met my nose, as the heat form sun rays hit my back, my red shoulder length hair flowed through the wind, Childrens laughter peaked my curiosity as it filled my ears, slowly opening my eyes and seeing my girlfriend closing the driver side door of our 2000 chevy blazer her brown hair pulled up into a high ponytail, her smooth tanned skin matched her dark blue eyes, "are you ready?" Her voice captured my heart with her excited expression. She looked down at her phone seeing the text the other party was waiting for us in the park fields.

"yes my love" my voice trembled as I walked to her side rubbing my hands together anxiously waiting to hopfully meeting a new member of our small family, walking into the field seeing a tall haggard woman standing there trying to hold onto a leash that was being pulled by a large brindle dog, his tail wagged back and forth in excitement, he panted from the heat as his eyes looked back and forth from us to his owner "your Sarah right?' my girlfriend asked her tone seem harsh and dissapointed upon seeing the dog. My eyes watched carefully looking at the brindle boy seeing that the owner lied about his living conditions.

"Yes, you must be Lylace" her breathless voice rang through the air as if she were counting on the wind to carry it across the field. "This is tank, he is 3 years old, and he's fully trained and ready to be a service dog, I can no longer care for him" she said gruffly as tank yanked her towards us, I titled my head towards Lylace as her eyes shifted towards me. Tank whined and barked as birds flew by, slowly kneeling to his level while lifting my hand towards him letting him sniff my scent to show him, I meant to harm, he flinched away indicating to me he been hit before. "Tell me why? Are you giving your 'service dog' away" my voice was harsh as tank gradually came closer to me smelling my hand before licking my face.

"Me and my husband have another dog who needs our attention more and we are moving, all I'm asking is he goes to a good home" her voice was soft and a little hard to hear as if she was confessing to a crime she committed. "Scar? What do you think?" my head snapped up looking at lylace seeing her worried expression as she looked at this dog "is there anything I should know if I take him home?" looking back at Sarah, gently taking the leash from her hands seeing her fidget with her fingers "he doesn't like men, oh and he ate a bottle of vape juice so he might throw up" sighing softly looking back at lylace "my love, you will be working tandem with him, I think we should take him" I stated softly while petting this joyful puppy's head looking into tanks brown eyes seeing he wouldnt have a good life with his current owner as I felt his ribs under my fingers.

Neglected, this poor boy was neglected "we will take him, here" lylace hands over 50$ to the owner, slowly standing up with the leash in my hands, taking this poor boy to our car with lylace hot on my heels slowly opening the back door letting tank in the car, then getting into the passenger seat waiting for lylace to come to the car my hand shaking in anger and excitement for this young pup that has joined our small family. Looking at the woman seeing her back as she walked away 'she didn't even want to say goodbye' I whispered as lylace entered the car shaking her head then started the car while looking back tank.

"So, what name shall we give him?" her voice cheerful as we both noticed he did not even respond to his name, watching her as the car started to move away from the park. My mind went blank as I thought of names "let go home and look at some names" my suggestion made her smile, "we will call him bubba for now" smiling at the thought as we slowly pulled away form the park. "Ciel?" I mumbled softly as the brindle dog looked at me as if answering the name "Ciel Phantomhive? Is that your name" I asked him as he licked my face. Lylace smiled upon the name "Ciel it is then, let's go home Ciel to meet your brother." she stated softly as we slowly reached our destination.
