Chapter 6

          Opening my eyes seeing a white abyss with only two wooden doors in front of me, upon both doors held names, 'Ciel' was written upon the left door in purple as for the right door held 'Navi' written in blue, looking at both doors made my heart pound "what is going on? Who is doing this!!" I shouted into the air hearing my voice echo into my ears. Looking around seeing nothing but these two doors that stood tall with in the room "are you strong enough?" a low whisper rang into my ear, "w-what?" stepping back feeling as if my soul had left my body my hands shaking in fear "are you strong enough?" the voice repeated as both doors slowly opened.

           "To see them once again!" the voice raised making my head hurt placing my hands upon my ears to cover them as my heart pounded "I have to be strong" I yelled back seeing both Navi and Ciel standing with in a field, halos hovered above their ears with wings upon their backs "they were in pain, I didn't want them to live in Pain!" Yelling loudly while falling to my knees, my wife's voice entered my ears "the vet called and confirmed that Navi has a brain Tumer" devastation ran through my body as the loud sound of heavy machinery slowly faded into the night. Walking outside and into a smoke shack to hear her more clearly "so what do we do?" I asked softly holding back the tears, I worked at a factory that makes chairs and tables every 6 minutes of an 8 hour shift a day. The loud whistle rang in the night indicating it was time for our first 15-minute break.

          "well-" her voice trailed off before sighing gently "I have scheduled him to be put down we cannot afford surgery plus the seizures on top of that" her voice faded away my eyes landed on Navi his door closing slowly "did we do the right thing?" Tears fell from my cheeks, seeing a bright light as Navi slowly laid down upon the ground his eyes slowly closed as if he was having a seizure once again his breathing slowed down as his door closed upon the earth one last time. Why can't I stand; as if I were chained to the ground. Ciel's whines filled the air shifting my eyes seeing him sitting at the door and wagging his tail staring at me with such love "Ciel! Come here! Do not leave me!" I yelled trying the break the chains to reach him, "its time," the doctors voice rang seeing the examination room Ciel's body lying limp there with a blanket covering him, the doctor stood above him "are you strong enough?", seeing his tail sticking out from under the blanket it no longer moved "no, no, no!" reaching forward as if I could stop this memory.

         Looking at Ciel his halo above him, he started to pant as the door slowly closed "don't go, please don't go" the doors slowly dissipated into the air without a trace leaving me with in a white silent room, tears fell from my eyes creating a small puddle upon the ground. "I don't want to do this anymore!" I shouted at my reflection while slamming my hands upon my lap "scar?!?" the voice echoed loudly, my head snapped up see no one there "scar! Wake up!?!" Mystery's voice echoed louder.

               Snapping my eyes open my heart pounding, looking around my room "Ciel" mumbling under my breath while gasping for air, my eyes darted around the room looking for him, sitting up quickly hearing my back pop. "Scar?" snapping my head towards mystery sweat slowly dripped off my skin. Placing my hand upon my chest feeling my heart pounding within my fingers. Clearing my throat "yes?" tilting my head towards her as she slowly sat down next to me "you know its ok to cry?" she stated gently while sitting next to me on my bed. She slowly reached over with a baby wipe and started to clean away the sweat that had gathered above my eyebrows.

           With a soft confident smile "I'm ok sis, just a bad dream" my voice wavered slightly. The sun rays entered through my window showing Ciel's harness within her hands. "Are you ok?" I asked slowly leaning towards her "I'm alright, I'm just checking up on you because you haven't texted or called me back" reaching over to unplug my phone seeing 12 missed calls and 34 text messages from her, chuckling softly while looking at the time 12:04 pm "oh my god I slept in! I missed class! Ugh" falling on my bed my head hitting the pillow. Rubbing my forehead while sighing softly, "mom said it's alright she understands what you're going through and -" her voice trailed off as she looked over next to my head seeing Ciel's collar laying there.

           "And?" my hand slowly falling towards my side, as curiosity filled my body "and, me and lylace thought you wanted to sleep instead of going to service dog class" finishing her sentence as lylace slowly opened the door holding some purple flowers within her hands I watched her closely as she slowly scratched the back of her head "we got you these flowers and some food" she warmly smiled while lifting up a Carl's JR bag the smell of a breakfast burger hit my nose making my stomach growl loudly into the air. Giggling at them both, while patting the spot next to me 'I know I'm strong, I will be strong for her' I thought softly while slowly taking the food and flowers of her hands. "Thank you" a warm smile formed upon my lips.
