8. Antidote...

time froze as yibo heard the gunshot and he expected the worst to happen. he couldn't open his eyes and see what happened to zhan.

"what happened? i'm alive?!" said zhan.

yibo suddenly open his eyes and he realize what actually happened.

'noah shot the wall? i'm so glad zhan is okay!.' thinks yibo.

"this was just too much, i think i'm gonna pass out. i need to sit down." said yibo.

but instead of sitting down yibo run towards zhan and kissed him making sure he is alive.

"hey babe, calm down. i'm okay. you don't need to worry anymore." said zhan.

"i know this is wrong timing and i'm sorry to interrupt... but we need to talk." said noah.

"why would we hear you when you tried to fucking kill us?" said zhan.

"i could've killed you but i didn't, so hear me out. i want to help you." said noah.

"but i don't understand if you want to help us, why do you have to kill us?" asked yibo.

"the villagers made me do it. i don't really have a choice. many villagers are dying due to this disaster." said noah.

yibo and zhan are looking at each other and giving a guilty look. because they both know how this disaster is being caused.

"and we thought everyone else was dead outside this village. so here comes the main question - how come you guys are alive?" asked noah.

"well, noah, this is a very good question. and a question this great needs a logical answer." said yibo.

"care to give me one?" asked noah.

"an answer? do you want an answer?" asked yibo.

"screw it. we're gonna tell him anyway. but first we want to know why you didn't kill us?" asked zhan.

"well... i wanted to know why you're still alive. because whatever kept you alive may cure our dying villagers. i only needed to save yibo to have my answers, but i'm not a murderer, i couldn't kill you either, zhan." said noah.

"well you not wrong what saved us could help you heal the villagers. we have an antidote and our home has the same protection your village had." said yibo

"how come?" asked noah.

"well it's because of our parents. they did an experiment that failed and caused the apocalypse. they were trying to resurrect my mum and his sister." said zhan.

"and they gave you the antidote and the protection. are they still alive?" said noah.

"no, they're not..." said yibo.

"so everything that happened was because of you? i lost my friends and some of my family members!" said noah.

"we're really sorry about that. it really must've been horrible for you and the village." said yibo.

"we're feeling terrible man, really." said zhan.

"feeling sorry won't bring back my lost ones." said noah.

"but we can work together to save the people who are still alive." said yibo.

"i'm sorry, i know it wasn't your fault guys. now how can we have that antidote of yours?" said noah.

"it's back in our parents' lab. we can take you there." said yibo.

"i'll bring a friend of mine with me. the road is dangerous and we'll need help." said noah.
