Jasper and Vanessa walked out the house and towards the woods in silence. Vanessa could sense that Jasper seemed troubled as she turns her head to look at him seeing him staring at the ground.
"Your family are wonderful. It was fun meeting them fully."
"Thank you love, I am sure they would love to hear that." Jasper looks at her as he smiles, but it didn't seem to reach his eyes making her stop and take his hand causing for him to look at her.
"Jasper."
"I know darling." He tells her knowing what she was gonna say and she walks closer to him and held his hand as he held them tightly as well. Her right hand reaches up touching his cheek as he leans in and closes his eyes.
"I know that I am not...the one to give you any children that you wanted."
"Jasper." He opens his eyes as Vanessa could see the pain in them. She leans up slowly to kiss him as he did the same, their lips touching one another as Jasper pulls her in to kiss her deeper before pulling away.
"Now it's one of those days that I wish to be human and take things slow with you." He whispers and leans his head against hers.
"Marry you."
"We can do all of that, baby. All of those things."
"Growing old and having children. Those, I can't even do." He tells her and she knew that if he was still human, he would be in tears. But his eyes showed how much pain to know that he will never do any of those things with her.
"Jasper, don't think of any of those things. Now is what we have and what we both want. What I want is to he with you with every second of the day." She says and he stares into her eyes with love before nodding his head smiling.
"You're right." Vanessa smiles and hugs him as he held her in his arms tightly, but not enough to crush her. After a couple of hours, Jasper drop her off back to her house and they both got out as he walks her to the front door.
"Thank you for meeting my family."
"I should be thanking you and your family for welcoming me." Vanessa tells him as he smiles and stops at the door.
"I'll see you?"
"Like always darling." He smiles happily and leans in to kiss her when the front door opens revealing Charlie causing the two to back away.
"Hope you two had fun."
"Dad."
"Come on." He motions inside the house and Vanessa shook her head before blowing a kiss to Jasper and walking inside the house.
"Goodnight, Mr. Swan."
"Night." He nods watching Jasper go back to his car and get inside before driving off.
The next day, Vanessa went back to the coffee shop as she was greeted by Grandma Margery.
"Welcome back dear! It's been so long since you came here."
"Yep, it has."
"Where's that fellow of yours? Jasper was it?"
"Yeah, his at his home with his family."
"Ahh, I see. Well, come on in and make yourself at home. Would you like anything to drink?"
"Coffee please." She smiles and Grandma Margery nods before walking behind the curtains. Vanessa walks towards the shelves and looks through the books when she heard the sound of bells indicating someone came inside.
"Hey Grandma!" A familiar voice greeted as she knew who it was.
"Hello, Ivan. Come help with stocking these packets out back please."
"Sure. Is someone here with you?"
"Ahh, yes. A kind young lady is here with me."
"Oh okay. I'll go ahead and help you with these." Vanessa groans softly as she prayed to God that Ivan doesn't see her. She hears shuffling and soft grunts as well as voices before taking out her phone and texted Jasper. Not that she's afraid of Ivan, it's the fact that he made her uneasy to he around.
"Vanessa?" She hears behind her as she tenses up and doesn't turn around.
"Is that you?" He questions as he took a step forward only for his name was called.
"Ivan."
"Coming!" His footsteps distance themselves as she let out a soft sigh. She turns to a corner of the bookshelves hoping to get away from his sight when a hand grabbed her arm making her gasp and yank it away only to sigh and see Jasper.
"Jasper."
"It's alright love." He assures her seeing her trembling under his touch.
"What happened?" He asked pulling her to him and before she could open her mouth. A voice interrupted them.
"Oh, hey Jasper." They turn their heads to see Ivan.
"Ivan, pleasure seeing you here."
"Same to you. What brought you here?"
"On a date with my girlfriend."
"Oh wow, congrats man." Ivan smiles before his name was called again.
"Coming! Sorry, no more chatter. Gotta work. Oh and coffee is ready, Vanessa." He leaves without another word as Jasper frowns.
"This is the last time we are gonna be here." He mutters before bringing her to their table as he sat close her. He made sure to sniff her coffee to see if it was laced with anything.
"Jasper, don't be weird."
"I don't trust that boy one bit, Darlin." He grumbles as Vanessa shook her head smiling before leaning against him with her eyes closed. Unbeknownst to them, behind the curtains glaring right at Jasper. Jasper could feel the burning eyes as he glances towards the curtains to see the pair of eyes move away from behind the curtains.
"Come on, let's go."
"Are you sure?"
"Trust me, love."
"Okay." She stood up as Jasper walked towards the front counter and wrote something down on a piece of paper before grabbing Vanessa's hand and walking out the coffee shop.
