Chapter 16

Vanessa knew that it was finally time to meet the rest of Jasper's family and with Bella and Edward getting a lot more closer throughout 2 months, Vanessa decided to talk to Jasper about it.

"Hey, Jasper."
"Yes, Darlin?" His thick accent sending shivers down her spine and got her heart beating which made Jasper grin knowingly, but went stoic and look at her so that she doesn't get embarrassed about it. Happens every time, Jasper thought.

"Um...on the weekends, do you wanna hang out at your place?" Vanessa ask shyly as Jasper sat up knowing that this is a big step forward in their relationship.

"You want to meet the rest of my family?"
"Yeah, I mean. It's time to do so right? We've been together for almost...2 and half months." She tries to think as Jasper chuckles and wraps his arm around her and kisses her head.

"It's when you feel ready, darling. I won't force you to do anything that you don't want."
"I know that, it's just. I don't wanna be weird around your family."
"You clearly already met my siblings." He jokes making her giggles and shake her head as he chuckles.

"But yes, you can meet them fully."
"Friday?"
"Of course, darling." He smiles towards her as she smiles back before kissing one another and soon pulling away.

"Does that mean, you're my girlfriend?"
"You haven't asked."
"Hm...you are quite right. Hold in just one moment." Jasper gets up and jumps out the window as Vanessa looked confused before hearing the door bell and getting up. She walks downstairs as Charlie opens the door and there stood Jasper with a bouquet of roses.

"Hello, Mr. Swan. I came to ask your daughter Vanessa a question." Jasper smiles as Vanessa felt her cheeks turn red.

"And what would that question be?" He asked crossing his arms protectively as he eyes Jasper while Jasper turns to look at her.

"Vanessa Swan, will you be my girlfriend?" He asked full of pride, love, and devotion in his tone. Charlie turns to look at Vanessa who stood there completely red.

"Y-Yes." Vanessa stutters as Jasper smiles and looks at Charlie silently asking for his permission. Charlie looks at his daughter then back at Jasper before sighing knowing that she's growing too fast for his liking.

"Go on." Charlie motions and immediately Jasper walks in handing her the roses as she takes it before leaning in to kiss her.

"No, no, no. Not in my house. No kissing." Charlie pushes him away as Jasper held his hands up in surrender.

"My apologies, Mr. Swan."
"Yeah, yeah. Just uh...go." He shoos him away as Jasper chuckles and nods before blowing her a kiss and walkout out the house shutting the door behind him.

"So...you two are dating."
"Y-Yes?" Vanessa turns to Charlie still blushing as Charlie looks at her and chuckles.

"Just be careful. Okay?"
"I will dad. I am your daughter after all." He smiles and wrapped his arms around her as she did the same before pulling back.

"I'll put this in my room."
"Alright." Charlie says and watches her go up the stairs before walking back to the kitchen needing another beer. Vanessa walks towards her door when Bella's door opens and sees Vanessa with flowers.

"Oh wow, from who?"
"Jasper. He asked me to be his girlfriend."
"Wow, moving forward huh?"
"Yeah, we are."
"That's good. As long as you're happy." Bella smiles as Vanessa smiles back at her.

"Thanks." She says before walking into her room as Bella shuts her door again. As Vanessa walks in and closes the door, Jasper was there sitting on her bed with a grin.

"Okay, very lovely performance you made."
"That wasn't a performance darling. It is true." He stood up and takes the roses from her hands and placing them to the side before cupping her cheeks and lifting it up to look into her brown eyes.

"You are the most beautiful woman I have come across. Despite being so unpredictable, you made my life feel adventurous and I am thankful for that. I love you."
"I love you too, Jasper." They lean to one another and within a second as they touch, their lips entangled to one another. Jasper's left hand held onto her waist pulling her closer to him as his right moved to her hair deepening their kiss. Vanessa's hands went behind his head burying her fingers into his blonde hair causing for Jasper to let out a low growl almost animalistic before pulling away to let her breathe.

"We need to stop or else." Jasper chuckles as she feels her cheeks redden again and Jasper could smell her blood rushing which was intoxicating for him, but he can control it since it's his mate. His love for her overpowering the hunger for blood, but he knew he needs to feed soon before being with her.

"I need to go hunt. I'll see you soon, darling."
"Okay, be careful."
"I will." He smiles at her before kissing her again and leaving out the window.

The entire week, Vanessa felt nervous and Jasper could tell that she was with how much she would overthink things. He had to calm her down through physical contact, but he knew it won't be enough yet he still tried as well as assuring her that everything will just be fine. The week went by too fast for Vanessa's liking, Friday came as Vanessa opened her eyes to see herself in Jasper's car already.

"School is over?"
"Yeah? You alright?"
"Yeah, just."
"I know. I can tell by how you fidget earlier and the way you were ignoring me."
"I am so sorry."
"It's fine, darling. Look, if you don't feel ready, I can always turn the car around and go home." Jasper parks his car at the side of the road and turns to look at her as he takes her hand into his.

"I want you to feel safe, loved, welcomed, and at peace." He tells her kissing each of her fingers when he said those words as she stares at him lovingly. The look that he knew he will never get tired of.

"I know you do."
"You will be great, darling." He reaches over stroking her cheek as she sighs and closes her eyes feeling at ease.

"Okay, let's go." She smiles towards him and he nodded before continuing his drive towards his home.
