~Daryian~
The day was going so smooth and well for me till Lucille had to blast that news right on my face.
I was so happy, excited and nervous to spend the night at Lucille's place, mix emotions were getting on my nerves.
When we kissed at the store parking lot, I felt the same warm feeling in the pit of my stomach—like when Lucille grabbed my hair this morning.
Maybe it's cause we didn't have lunch and it's almost time for dinner.
My lips still tingled from our kiss earlier. But it all poofed in my face when I was handed clothes that belongs to my girlfriend's ex-hook-up.
As I showered in Lucille's luxurious washroom, I couldn't restrain the unwanted over-lapping feelings that threatened to envelope my mind with insecurities and doubts. Again.
Did I mean really that less to her that she'd so carefreely let me wear her pass-timer's clothes?
Or was she that oblivious?
Why the hell does she even have their clothes in the first place? Still...
When was her last hook-up? Was it after I joined at Katz Corp.? Or before.
Thoughts nagged and gnawed at the edge of my thinning mind, so I hurried up and toweled myself dry before getting in those clothes.
They are a bit too large on me. That meant the person was bigger and taller.
Of course Lucille would prefer someone taller. I was just the same height as her, don't even have much muscles.
No wonder she'd kept this clothes.
A weird pang reverberated through my chest and I angrily splashed water on my face.
I didn't feel like going out and facing her. I wanted to run away from here and not see her. At least not for now.
It was supposed to be our celebratory night, not my personal soap opera episode.
But no matter how many times I tried to assure myself that it was all okay and she loves me now, it still disturbed me. The knowledge that she'd kept her hook-up's clothes in her closet.
I walked out of the washroom to find the room empty, thankfully.
I directly went to the kitchen to find Lia had served steaming hot food—the smell so delicious—it made my stomach grumble.
She smiled seeing me. "You're right on time. Where's Lucille?"
"I didn't see her in the room."
"Okay. I'll get her, you should start. You two must be hungry."
I nodded and sat down. My eyes looming over the delicious looking food.
Lia had prepared chicken parmesan, salad, seasoned cherry tomatoes, some kind of sandwiches, and there was rice wine.
I have never tried rice wine but the Korean dramas always showcased rice wine as something really appetising which had me intrigued for a while now.
"They look amazing. Thank you, Lia."
"My pleasure, dear." She patted my shoulder and left to go find Lucille.
As I began to eat, I couldn't shake off the uneasy feelings that still bothered my subconscious and conscious.
"Started without me?" I froze at her voice and briefly gave her a fake smile.
She frowned and sat down opposite of me, serving herself with salad and wine.
