Lucille stopped the car in front of a Carnival, or a local fair?

I was confused but the place was really colorful and all kinds of lights illuminating it made me excited like a little kid.

It's been so long since I went to a fair or something.

When we were younger, Jamie, Nate and I would often wander off to fairs or Carnivals, losing our sanity and have fun to our hearts' content.

Then we got jobs, life got busy and just like that, years went by without visiting one. Till now.

I turned to Lucille with a bounce on my step, I'm sure my eyes were sparkling with the excitement that rippled within me.

"I didn't know you liked this kind of places." I said while unbuckling my seatbelt, eager to jump out.

But a firm grip on my chin prevented me from stepping a foot out as I was turned to face Lucille's dark eyes.

"I don't like this type of places. I hate all these colors and lights." My face fell hearing her talk so heartlessly. "But I'm ready to experience every first with you."

I grinned and hurried with a peck on her lips then scrambled out of the car, Lucille following behind.

Before I could take off though, she took a hold of my hand and interwined our fingers together.

"Don't run off." She coldly warned.

"How did you know that I like going to places like this?" I asked.

She smirked mysteriously, refusing to answer but I was persistent as I tugged at her arm.

"Please tell me!" I literally whined.

Seeing my desperation, she chuckled, getting us in line to get the tickets.

"I had a little chat with Nate and he said how you three mischief makers used to visit Carnivals and drank till your asses forgot your names."

I blushed in embarrassment.

Why did that idiot had to disclose so much? Fool.

"Don't be so shy now, baby. There's nothing to be shy in front of me." She winked, causing my blush to deepen if possible.

We got the wrist bands and then finally entered the place, even though it was late in the afternoon, the lights and chaos were really loud.

"Before going for any ride, we should have lunch."

I wanted to shake my head—wanting to get on the rides first—but the loud grumble from my stomach gave me away.

Lucille's smirk widened as she led us to a eating area.

We waited after ordering our food, my eyes more so often glancing out at the crowd, wanting to mingle among the chaos, the old habits resurfacing with more passing minute.
