It felt weird and shivery to enter the office the next day.

Every pair of eyes glared at me as if I had the Covid virus. My heart ached and thumped im anxiety.

I went to the reception area to procure the parcel that was supposed to arrive for our upcoming project.

The girl behind the desk saw me approaching and hurriedly left the place, whispering something to her peer.

I felt insulted. I still walked over there and without asking commenced my search for the parcel. I found it along with other boxes and went to the elevators.

Elena had informed me on my first day that I was privileged to use the one Lucille did, but I didn't want to draw any more attention towards me than it already was.

"Hey." A short boy with brown hair whisper-called me as we waited by the elevators.

I was surprised to have someone talk to me and not avoiding me.

"Yeah?" I was skeptical.

"Is it true that you got this job by seducing the Boss? That's so cool man. You aced it."

My throat went dry and the familiar drop of my heart sounded loud.

"It's not what happened. I got this job on my own skills and capability." I choked out.

"Pfft. Come on, dude. Don't be shy now. Everyone knows you were carrying a drunk Boss to her car and you went to her mansion to fuck."

I'm sure my face had drained of any color by now.

So this was how people interpreted that night? Then it was of no use of me trying to explain or clear things up.

"This is bullshit." I gritted out.

Thankfully the door opened right then and I squeezed myself to the very back, hiding away from every judging stare.

My heart was breaking and I felt like just escaping from this place and never come back here.

It was unnerving to see Lucille or even be seen entering her room after all the shit I've heard since yesterday.

I could feel the venom laced gazes pricking at my skin and twisting through my heart as I made it to Lucille's floor and finally stopped myself before her doors.

Thankfully, Lucille's floor didn't contain much people around except the reception boy George and Elena.

They both were busy and I quickly pressed my thumb on the pad, letting myself through the sanitization process.

With my heart pounding in my chest, I stepped inside and Lucille was standing right there.

She looked intimidating with arms crossed over her chest and brows knotted together in a deep frown, her stare looked judgemental and full of questions.

I was parched.

"Good morning." I mumbled shakily, trying to walk past her to my own desk but her cold hand took a grab of my wrist.

I froze.

"I believe we need to talk." She flatly spoke, not a hint of any emotion on her tone as she held my wrist firmly.

"Ab-about what? We got work." I tried to reason, failing miserably as she tugged at my hand and I stumbled right in front of her.

I felt so small as she towered over with her heels on, I looked anywhere except her face.
