"You really have a cosy home,"Agnira said while walking around the house which Hayden had brought specially in order to show her that he lived in a normal three bedroomed row house in Boston.
"Just praising won't do. You need to cook me a delicious dinner tonight,"he said and she chuckled while replying,"I will surely, if you please."
"I was kidding. But, you really know how to cook?"
"Not great at it but my mother always says that one should know these basic survival skills. So she taught me and my brother how to cook certain basic things."
"Indians are very simple, isn't it?"
"Very much. You're an Indian too. Simplicity lies within you too,"she said before entering the kitchen and turned on the lights before saying,"let's see what's there. Wow! Everything seems to be stocked well."
"Yah, it's the beginning of the month so restocked everything,"Hayden lied while sitting upon the kitchen counter.
She took out a sauce pan and a big bowl and poured flour in it and said,"I'll make something Indian. You eat Indian dishes I guess?"
"I don't, most often. But I'll, if you make,"came Hayden's reply which made her smile and knead the dough while asking,"you seem to know the art of adjustment."
"No I don't. It's just you for whom I seem to adjust at times and I don't know why. Do you know?"
She looked at him and found him staring at her and she broke the seconds of silence with her answer.
"No!"
Hayden chuckled and said,"you're secretive girl."
"As if you don't have secrets."
"I do! I'll tell you soon. But before that, tell me more about India. Where are you from actually? I mean from which part of the country?"
"Maharashtra. I am from Mumbai."
"So you're a big city girl. Nice! How are people there?"
"Sentimental! Culture ka kadar karnewaley. Religious. Pata hain Raj, India mein na marriage bhi ek grand celebration jaisa hain. Aur jaise yaha shaadi sirf doh logon ke beech hota hain, waha aisa nahi hota. Doh logon ke saath doh parivaaron bhi jurte hain. Waha ke festivals, waha ke cuisines, alag alag varieties ke hain. Tum kabhi gaye nahi na waha?"
"Kabhi nahi. I would like to go."
"Zaroor aana. Filhaal rumali roti bana rahi hoon aur saath mein malai chicken. Done?"
"Perfect!"he said and came near her.
"Pass me that packet,"she said and he did as told and he asked,"what's your favourite go to dish?"
