"Years back I was here for our Preet's passing out parade, which she was leading, and Jayveer was second in command. Today, our Hriday is leading his passing out parade and Jashan is the second in command. Time flies away so quickly,"Shrutika said holding Shreyas' hand.

"Yes! Kal ki hi toh baat thi jab yeh log itney se theh. Aur aaj dekho!"he replied and then looked at Hardik who was looking at his son with pride.

"Bhai."

"Hmm?"

"How are you feeling?"

"On cloud nine. My son, Yash, my son is the best cadet. My little boy,"Hardik said feeling emotional.

"Dad! Don't turn your glamourous face into a crying wreck,"Prithvi teased him.

"Shut up Vi!"Hardik said, making him chuckle while the parade ended and Preetika was called upon the stage, much to Hriday's delight. He didn't have any idea about receiving the award from his mother, hence a wide smile spread across his face automatically.

He controlled it due to protocol while Preetika spoke over the mic,"my honorable senior officers, my co officers, my juniors, the fresh batch of cadets and their families, a very good morning to one and all present out here. Well, around twenty five years ago, I had received the honour of being an IPS officer on a day like this. And what a journey it has been since then! My young batch of officers, let me tell you one thing, being the best officer doesn't means being brave and selfless all the time, neither does it means being extremely smart and quick-witted. It is always about being true to yourself and your uniform."

Everyone clapped for her while Hriday and Prithvi looked at her admiration while the award ceremony started and the prizes were being distributed before she called Hriday to the stage to collect the trophy for the best cadet along with the medals for best shooter and fitness.

He did a salute and accepted the awards before going to the podium and saying,"good morning to all the honourary people, my seniors, my batch mates, our families and each and everyone out here. Well, it's a great day. Receiving the best cadet award from someone who has been a former best cadet and my mother, is an absolute honour and I am glad that I could do it. And hopefully I can serve the department like Officer Preetika Sehgal Dhanrajgir has been doing.  Thank you."

Everyone clapped for him while Preetika smiled in contentment and sighed before looking towards the sky once and thinking,"Papaji, Beeji, not just your Preet, your Preet's son is also an IPS officer now. Bless him."

"Hardik!"Jayveer called while coming towards him and they shared a hug while congratulating each other.

"Jashan has been exceptional. Congratulations,"Hardik said.

"Same to you. Best cadet ka Dad, haan!"Jayveer said with a chuckle.

"Arey tumhara toh double hain bhai. Ek side pe Best Athletics and Academics Cadet mein beta khada hain aur Best Cadet mein honewala jamai,"Hardik teased, making him laugh.
