Hriday was almost done with his packing when Preetika walked in saying,"abhi tak packing nahi hui teri? Ek kaam kar, train rehene dete hain, main chhor aaungi tujhe issbar."
"Kya Maa, abhi bhi time hain. Aur mera ho bhi gaya hain. Accha listen na, Papa ke saath sab kuch sort out kar lena aur wapas apne room mein aajana. Main wapas aakar aapko outhouse mein nahi dekhna chahata hoon. Okay?"Hriday said and she caressed his face and said,"abb yeh toh teri Bhabi par depend karta hain. Jitni jaldi tere Papa usey Agastya ke saath uskey apne kamrein mein rehene ka permission denge utni jaldi main bhi unkey paas laut aaungi. Khair, tu yeh sab matt sochna waha jaakar. Mann lagagar apna training poori karna beta. Humare department ko ek aur honhaar officer milnewala hain tere aaney se."
"I'll do my best, Maa. Promise. Aap sab apna khayal rakhna,"he said when Zeba came in saying,"yeh dekho main..."and stopped on seeing Preetika.
"Good Morning Aunty,"she said and Preetika chuckled and said,"main niche jaati hoon. Ek kaam yaad agaya hain."
"Hmm! Toh aaj kya laayi ho?"Hriday asked as soon as Preetika left and Zeba came forward and showed him the container in which she had made a chicken dish for him.
"Hyderabadi Chicken. Tumhara favourite,"she said and Hriday took it saying,"yumm! Thank you so much."
He closed his bags and the bearer came in and took away his luggage while Zeba looked on sadly and he held her hands, noticing her expression.
"Main har baar jaata hoon aur sabke chehere ka baara baj jaatey hain. Arey yeh final time hain. Iskey baad yahi rahunga. Smile,"he said and she hugged him saying,"pata hain Hrid, jitna humare shaadi ka time paas aata jaa raha hain na utna hi dar lagne laga hain mujhe."
Hriday hugged her back while asking,"lekin kiyu? It's not like I am running away or backing out from the marriage. Then?"
"It's not about that. I know you won't back out ever, but...ajeeb sa darr hain Hrid. Main samjha nahi paaungi tumhe. Aisa lag raha hain jaisey we'll not end up together,"she said and he made her look at him and cupped her face, saying,"listen Zeba, if we are meant to be together then we will definitely end up together. Aur agar tum kisi aur ke liye bani ho yah main kisi aur ke liye bana hoon then we will never get married. All I want to say is, apne future ka sochke apne present ko barbaad matt karo. Be happy, keep others happy. Tum dukhi hogi toh gharwaley bhi dukhi honge na? Hmm?"
Zeba gave a nod and smiled at him, and he smiled back at her before saying,"that's like a good girl."
"Aao niche chalte hain. Late ho jaoge nahi toh,"she said and started walking when he held her back and said,"I have something for you."
"What is it?"she asked and he took out a bracelet from his pocket and said,"this,"and then locked it around her wrist.
