Author's note: Part 31/??

Iris dragged confused Nonsee inside the cottage and led him inside the small kitchen. Non didn't have time to look around much. He was seated and presented with a suspicious-looking sandwich.

"Eat. You must be hungry after the ride." Iris sat beside him, eagerly waiting for Nonsee to take a bite. Glancing at his sister's creation, he smiled and quickly took a bite. Iris wasn't a good cook. He sighed in relief when the taste didn't make his stomach turn, but it wasn't the best either.

"It's good."

"Thank you."Iris smiled. Nonsee was surprised she didn't see through his obvious lie.

"Can you tell me what's going on?" Nonsee placed the half-eaten meal on the plate, waiting for the desired explanation.

"We will explain everything, my fairy." Pat joined them along with Wech. Non glanced at his partner expectantly. Though he wanted to know the truth behind his rescue, he was afraid, too.

"Where to start? Oh, I know." Iris's eyes lit up and suddenly Nonsee regretted his question.

"I will start, nong." Pat stopped Iris before she could start. Non was glad his partner interrupted her.

"First. This house belongs to me. I inherited it from my grandfather long ago. Almost no one knows about it. We are safe here." Pat took Nonsees hand, intertwining their fingers. The gesture calmed his anxiety and he was ready to listen more.

"It was Grandma Chor who came up with this. She's a cunning fox." Pat smiled and Non couldn't agree more.
