About a few weeks later, almost a month, Akunin and I were watching my rom-com together. Since the shopping trip, we've gotten closer. I still haven't fully forgiven him, and I'm not sure I ever will, but he's still doing what he can to make up for lost time. "Ok, so to catch you up, Martin and Vanessa are supposed to be together, right?" I started explaining, pausing the show to talk. Akunin nodded and pulled out a pen and notepad, letting me continue.
"But Martin is a fucking dumbass, so that's not happening. Except for the fact that Vanessa finally made a move on Martin, but that barely effected their situation. Then Alex and Layla are finally getting their shit together and started dating, but Julia got all jealous and shit even though she's supposed to be with Jamie, so that's a problem." I continued explaining as Akunin wrote his notes down.
"Oi, dumbass. Just play the show!" Katsuki groaned. "Nigga, you can wait!" I spat back. Katsuki rolled his eyes and slouched on the couch. "Any ways," I finished explaining then played the show. When the episode was over, I was pissed. "This show is so shitty, bro. Instead of Martin finally fucking realizing that Vanessa likes him, he started talking to some bitch named Sera. Like, wtf?!" I shouted as I went looking for something to take my anger out on. Akunin's attempt at calming me down by encouraging me to take deep breaths backfired completely.
"Yeah, only after Alex and Layla rubbed their relationship in her face!" Katsuki shouted from the couch. Before I could continue arguing, I heard a knock on the door. "Who is it?" I asked through the cameras outside the door. Two tall, bald men with black suits and sunglasses stood by the door. "We're looking for an Akunin Monoma. Our sources tell us he's here." One of them replied, their deep voice sending a slight chill through my spine. "Gimmie a minute." I walked back to the kitchen and went to talk to my dad.
"Ayo, dad. Who are these guys?" I showed him a picture of the two men and his eyes widened. "Your mother had these men follow me after we divorced." He whispered, hiding under a table. "She did what?" I crouched down to him, confused. "I've been on the run for years trying to get away." He whispered once again. "Can't you just... kill them or something?" He asked, looking up at me. I'm sorry, what? I looked at my dad in disbelief. "Uh, no? Do I look like a fucking murderer?" I rolled my eyes.
"I guess not... how about your boyfriend?" He looked around for Sero from under the table. "Why would I make him do that?" I pulled my dad out from under the table before crossing my arms. "Just as a favor for your old man?" He questioned, raising his shoulders in a questioning motion. "Yeah, no." I walked back towards the door and opened it. "I don't know who you're talking about, but you have 1 minute to leave." I ordered, leaning against the doorway, looking up at the men.
The two looked at each other before looking back at me, laughing. "And what are you gonna do about it, sweetheart?" One of them asked. "You gonna hit us with your purse?" They both laughed harder. I shrugged and looked in my purse, pulling out a Glock 19 that Sero gave me and held it up to them. "Don't hurt yourself, sweetheart." They laughed again. Their laughing quickly stopped as they looked above my head fear in their eyes.
You give me a gun yet never let me use it. "Leave. Now." Sero said from behind me, staring down at the two. His voice was deep and raspy, his stare cold. The two nodded and walked away, muttering amongst each other. "Are you serious? How are you gonna give me a gun, yet never let me use it?" I turned to Sero, crossing my arms. "I gave you that gun just in case I'm not here, cariño." Sero bent down and kissed my forehead before walking off. I rolled my eyes and walked behind him to find my dad nervously pacing back and forth.
"Dad, they're gone, chill." I rolled my eyes at his current state. "My beautiful daughter, always taking care of me!" My dad hugged me tightly, and I didn't refuse. "Well, I better get going. Thanks for your help!" My dad let go of me and began walking out of the mansion. "Wait, you're leaving already?" I turned to him, confused.
"So, you just came here to get away from them?" Sero added, also turning towards my dad as he walked to the door. "O-of course not!" My dad countered, looking back and forth. I noticed Mina, Kami and Kiri come downstairs, all in their footie pajamas. "Hey, what's going on-" "Are you fucking serious? That's the only reason you came here? To get away from the niggas mom sent on you?" I interrupted Kiri with my shouting, my fists clenched.
I really thought he would actually want to make up all the lost time. I guess I was wrong; My father will never change. "Get out." I muttered, looking down at my feet. "C'mon, N/n. You know me, I'm not that bad of a person." My father tried to walk up to me. "Get! Out!" I shouted, looking at the man who claimed to be my father. He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Fine." With that, he left.
"What was all that about?" Kami asked. "As I tried to tell y'all, my father is a dead-beat who doesn't care about me." I sighed, going to my room and slamming the door.

I laid in my bed, scrolling through TikTok to try and calm myself down when I heard a knock at my door. "Cariño?" I heard Sero's voice. "Hey girl, you okay?" I heard Mina, too. "Open the door before I bust it down, dumbass." Katsuki's voice sounded somewhat sincere. I got off my bed and opened my door. "I'm kinda in the middle of something." I said as I opened it. "We're just worried about you. You left pretty quickly without explaining." Mina said, coming to sit on my bed.
"It's not like I wanna talk about it. I already told you guys he'd fuck it up, and he did. Now leave me alone." I said, trying to push them out of my room. "We'll be here if you want to talk, mi amor." Sero assured as I closed the door behind them, going back to sit on my bed with my phone. Before long, my head was full of thoughts. Was Mina right? Should I have explained what went on? No, they saw what happened. Was I too harsh on my dad? Hell no, he wanted to be that way, and I don't need niggas like him in my life.
The back and forth continued on, and before long, my stomach was growling. Right after it growled, there was a knock at my door. "Cariño are you awake? I got you some ramen from that place you like. Can I come in?" Sero asked. I felt happy that my boyfriend cared so much. "Yeah." I said, turning off my phone and looking to my door as Sero came in with a bag.
"I got your ramen just how you like it." He smiled sitting next to me and handing me the bag. "Thanks, Sero." I smiled back softly, opening the bag. On top of the ramen bowl was a small sticky note. I took the ramen bowl out and read the note. 'Hope this makes you feel better! -Chirou' I smiled at the note and opened the ramen bowl, pouring the separated soup onto the noodles. I then added the extra toppings to my ramen and dug in. I sighed happily at the taste. "I'm glad you like it, mi amor." Sero kissed the side of my head.
Sure, my dad was a fucking dead-beat, but I still have people that care about me with their entire being. And absolutely nothing makes me happier.
