The next day, at 11 am, Anaya declared, "I'm ready, let's go," as she descended the stairs.

Ragini lifted her into her arms and settled into the back seat of the car. In no time, the driver brought them to a mall. They entered, heading straight for the dress section.

Anaya surveyed the sea of dresses, but none caught her fancy.

"Look at this one, Anaya. Isn't the color lovely?" Ragini suggested.

"No, Rags, I don't like it. There's nothing nice in this shop," Anaya complained, drawing the attention of all the workers.

For the past two hours, Anaya had turned the store upside down, yet nothing pleased her. The whims of a four-year-old can be as vast as the ocean. Everyone sat, exhausted and defeated. Ragini received a call and was soon engrossed, leaving Anaya amidst a whirlwind of dresses, still searching for the perfect one.

In the bustling heart of the mall, Anaya's gaze wandered beyond the kaleidoscope of the kids' section, drawn irresistibly to the elegance of the adult aisle. There, amidst a garden of fabrics and hues, stood a lady, her dress a masterpiece that captured Anaya's wonder.

With the unbridled enthusiasm of youth, Anaya dashed across the invisible border separating child from adult, her tiny feet barely whispering against the polished floor.

As she approached the lady, Anaya's flurry of movement stilled, her breath caught in a moment of awe. She blinked, once, twice, thrice, as if to ensure the vision before her was not a mirage.

Then, with a soft yet laden voice with a world of emotion, she uttered a single word that tethered her to the lady,

"Mumma..."

The lady turned, her attention shifting like the tide to the shore, drawn by the voice of her heart. "Baby penguin," she responded, her voice a melody that danced through the air. A smile bloomed on her face, a sunrise of recognition and love. She knelt, descending to Anaya's world, their eyes locking in a silent conversation of souls.

Upon hearing her cherished nickname, 'baby penguin,' a smile unfurled on Anaya's face, radiant as the moon in a clear night sky. She leaped into Siya's embrace, a hug that enveloped her in the warmth of a thousand suns, a fortress against the world, a whisper of home in the heart of the chaos.

Siya's pov ♠️

I had come to the mall to find a dress for myself, as I had nothing suitable for the Gala. Usually, Heena would arrange everything, but today I decided to see for myself. And I swear, my fashion sense seemed to have died.

I just couldn't figure out what to wear. Then, my eyes landed on a gown, a light blue shade that looked absolutely lovely. I asked for it. The attendants told me it was a mother-daughter twinning dress, but I thought, why not give it a try? I tried on the dress and looked at myself in the mirror. It was truly beautiful. I told the attendant I would take it, and I would also buy the mini version of this dress. They agreed.
