Jiwon POV

Hwejang (CEO) personally gave me 4 projects to choose from when I officially became their artist. A fantasy, a family drama, a thriller and a romcom. 4 projects with totally different vibes and all written by amazing writers. I took my time to read all scripts and I just fell in love with the romcom. On the other note, I was tempted with the thriller. It was one of the genres I haven't tried yet, but I know my body isn't ready for the action scenes as shown in the script. So at the end, I went with romcom. Queen of Tears.

What a scam. After agreeing with the project, the first things they wanted me to do were to work out and follow a strict diet. I should have just accepted the thriller then. I ended up training and working out anyway. But kidding aside, after reading 4eps of QOT, I got curious. The story line was well written and captivating. And as cherry on top, Kim Soohyun-shi would act as Baek Hyunwoo, my character's husband. I have always looked up to sunbaenim since I was still starting with my career. He was a real celebrity for me. So when the first (unofficial) script reading was scheduled with PD, jakganim (writer) Park Ji-eun and the rest of the main casts, I was so excited.

Staffs and other actors were already there when I arrived at TVN conference room. I bowed to everyone and introduced myself. Only after a few minutes, Kim Soohyun-shi arrived wearing a cap and black windbreaker jacket. With me wearing a hoodie, Park Sunghoon-shi pointed out he looked overdressed. All of us laughed. This immediately broke the ice. Conversations rose from the table. Topics were so random, from the script, to the inspiration in writing the story, to hobbies, to sports. Soohyun-shi and I, together with PD led the script reading while the senior actors led the casual conversations. I only chipped in a few times. I noticed Soohyun-shi was very approachable and could adopt easily to anyone. He was lively and funny too. But I felt like he was in his "work" or "professional" mode on. Like he was really trying to reach out and make everyone comfortable, which I really appreciated. He really worked hard and took his projects seriously, on and off cam. I should work hard as well.

The script reading ended in less than three hours.

Soohyun POV

As soon as I arrived, I greeted everyone and introduced myself. When I saw Kim Jiwon-shi, she was quietly sitting beside PD-nim. I watched two of her projects and she was a good actress and her image was very cute.Still, I did not expect her to look so... so naturally pretty. She wasn't wearing any make on, but she managed to look more beautiful in real life than in TV. She also gave off a calm aura.

Throughout the meeting, even when I was talking with someone else, I still paid attention to her. She was an introvert, like me but more. She was quiet, kind and friendly too. Ji Eun noona noticed I kept stealing glances. But instead of saying anything, she just raised her eyebrow subtly. When I saw the time table, shooting for 1 year with someone I find difficult would cause problems. I was extremely worried, but meeting her, all was good. Deep down, I was relieved that Jiwon-shi was what other people said. Unfortunately, we did not interact much.

In the car, my manager was talking to someone over the phone. As I was waiting for him to be done and start driving, I saw Jiwon-shi went out of the building wearing a cap. She was putting on her wired headset and started walking. What the... I couldn't believe what I was seeing. No staff. Just her. And she was walking funnily too, like a kid who was given a free candy. Her arms were swaying and she was kind of skipping. She looked like she was doing a little dance. Cute. She probably arrived solo too.

It seemed like she was comfortable being alone. This made her even more remarkable for me. I always thought that being alone would make a person truly understand his/her worth. Being alone would help distinguish wants from needs. A quote I read somewhere was still clear in my head, "Until you get comfortable with being alone, you'll never know if you're choosing someone out of love or out of loneliness." So, Jiwon-shi would love wholeheartedly. I wonder if she is dating someone.
