This is my first story so enjoy.
I had always dreaded working with Leighton Murray. Whenever we were assigned to the same project. We always argued and bickered over everything. I couldn't stand her no-nonsense attitude and how she always seemed to think she was right.
But one day, everything changed.
We had been working on a project for hours, and I was about ready to give up. I'm too tired and frustrated and couldn't stand to be around Leighton for one more minute. But then something unexpected happened.
Leighton looked up at me and said, "You know what Y/n/n? I think we're doing a great job. We're making progress."
I was shocked. I had never heard Leighton compliment me before, and I had no clue how to react. But as we continued working together, I noticed other things about her. I saw how dedicated she was to the project and how hard she worked hard to make it perfect. I saw her passion and drive towards the task, and I couldn't help but feel a little impressed.
As the days went on, I started to look forward to working with Leighton. We still argued and disagreed on things, but there was a new level of respect between us as I've never seen. We could now listen to each other and compromise, and I started to enjoy her company.
And then one night as we were working late in the office something changed. We were sitting side by side, going over some notes, when I looked up at Leighton and saw her in a new light. I saw her eyes sparkle in the dim light, and her lips curled into a small smile as she concentrated on the task. And suddenly, I realised that I was falling for her.
It was a strange feeling, one I had never experienced before. But as we continued to work together, I found that my feelings for her grew stronger. I went from hating her to falling madly in love, and it was the most unexpected thing that had ever happened to me.
After we got the last few things done, I looked over at Leighton and noticed that she was dozing off. I gave a small smile and just looked at her for a few seconds. "Hey, Leighton," I say with a soft voice. She looks up at me with tired puppy eyes, "Do you want to go chill at my suite and finish this off there?" She gave a small nod and started to grab her things. We walked slowly to my suite and by the time we got there she looked so out of it.
We get in and she goes straight to my couch in the middle of my room, my roommate Charlotte came in to ask me something about philosophy and then she gave me a look because Leighton Murry was on my couch fast asleep.
"Why is she on your couch?" Charlotte says quietly, I gave her a look, "She was starting to doze off and I didn't want her to fall asleep on the table in the office so I asked if she wanted to come here and finish the work but I knew she would want to sleep, so, yeah" Char just looked at me and laughed. She left the room while I looked over Leightons' notes and finished off the work.
It was about 1 am and I was going over some of my other work, all of a sudden I started to notice that Leighton was breathing a bit heavier than normal, I looked over and saw her tossing and turning and she had a scrunched up face like she was scared of something. I got up and went to her to calm her down. She woke up, startled, and her heavy breathing scared me because it just reminded me of my little brother Lewie and the night terrors he got.
"Y/n?" She says with tears in her eyes. She wrapped her arms around me, and I held her close. "It's ok, don't cry, please," I say with sincerity. She let go of me and wiped her eyes and gave me a small smile. "What time is it?" she asks, I grab my phone and show her. She still looks so tired. "Why don't you stay here tonight and get some sleep, we have tomorrow off," I say. She gave another small nod and looked at my bed, I looked at her, and she grabbed my hand, walked me over to my bed, and laid on top of me. I looked down at her, and she was already asleep. She hugged me tighter, and I slowly drifted off to sleep.
