Draco Malfoy:

for a few weeks, you'd begun to notice that he prioritises school work over you and it was pissing you off. so that night, you'd decided to go and talk to him. you knocked on the door, waiting patiently. the door swung open and he stood there, his shirt wrinkled, hair messy and brows furrowed in obvious stress.

"hi love." he smiled, kissing you. "hey," you replied. he pulled away and walked to his desk, and you shut the door behind you as you walked in. "can we talk?" you ask, crossing your arms over your chest. "mhm." he hummed, keeping his eyes focused on the assignment in front of him.

"draco, when i mean talk, i mean a conversation where you're paying attention to me." you snap, "for once." he looks up at you, "i know, love. but i've got work to get done. but i promise i'm listening." he looks back down, and you roll your eyes. "this was exactly what i wanted to talk to you about. but why did i fucking bother. should've known that you wouldn't give a shit about what your girlfriend has to say."

with a quick move, he slammed his book shut and stood up, looking you dead in the eyes, "what did you say?" standing your ground, you lifted a brow, "i said you don't give a shit about what i think or what i have to say anymore." he narrowed his eyes at you. "let's fucking hear it then. what do you have to say that i don't seem to want to hear?"

"are you sure you finally have time to pay attention to me and not your books?" you asked mockingly. "out with it, y/n." he replied, his arms resting on the desk. "here it is then. lately, you've been so busy with school that you barely have any time to spend with me. whenever we do, we rarely talk. if you want to focus on school, then just tell me and i'll understand, instead of leading us both on."

"school is important to me, and my family and you know that. is this your subtle way of telling me that you want to break up with me? if it is, stop being a fucking coward and do it, y/n." shocked at his words, you reply, "does it look like i want to break up with you? i love you draco, but right now i don't think you feel that way towards me."

"you're right. maybe i don't anymore." he snaps, and silence falls between the two of you. "fine. if that's how you feel then," you pause, looking down at the promise ring on your finger and slipping it off, "here. keep this." you throw it at his chest, which he catches with ease. regret fills his features, "no, love. please don't do this. i didn't mean it." you walked towards the door, turning back, "i think you did, draco."

Mattheo Riddle:

ever since you and mattheo had gotten together, you'd been getting dirty looks from all the girls who'd fawned over him for ages. but your relationship hadn't stopped them from flirting with him whatever chance they'd gotten. what angered you more was that mattheo hadn't told them to stop, despite the fact that he continuously rejected them.

you were sat beside him on the couch, coming to the end of a conversation with him when a girl sat on the other side of him. he kept his hand on your thigh but engaged in a conversation with her. you crossed your arms over your chest, pissed. pansy caught your gaze from the other side of the room, and she, too, looked angered at mattheo's behaviour.

"i'm leaving." you murmur, roughly moving his hand off and getting up. "darling, where are you-" you cut him off, "i need to be alone." you stormed out of the common room, pansy running after you. tears were streaming down your face, your feet instinctively leading you to the astronomy tower. behind you, you heard pansy walking to you, "it'll be okay."
