FROST

In the dimly lit confines of my office, the air is thick with the weight of critical information. Robert, still bearing the marks of his earlier ordeal, sits across from me, detailing the next steps in our ongoing battle against the human traffickers known as the Dark. His voice is weak but steady, a mix of fear and reluctant loyalty driving his words.

"They're planning to move the next group of women tonight, around midnight, to an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city," Robert reveals, his eyes darting around nervously.

I narrow my ice-blue eyes as I process the information. "Good work, Robert," I say coldly. "We'll be ready for them."

Standing, I stride to the door, my commanding presence leaving no room for argument. With a swift motion, I summon my team. "Everyone, gather in the briefing room. We have urgent matters to discuss."

As my team assembles, I lay out the plan with military precision. "The Dark will transport their captives tonight at midnight. We need to be ten steps ahead. I want all surveillance cameras operational and teams positioned at every potential entry point. No one gets in or out without our knowledge."

They nod, their faces set in grim determination. I dismiss them with a sharp nod, my mind already racing ahead to the next steps.

Just then, my phone buzzes. I see my father's name on the screen and answer immediately. "Father," I greet him, my tone respectful but businesslike.

"Frost," my father's deep voice rumbles through the phone. "I wanted to inform you that I'll be meeting with the leader of the Sphinx group, Fire, tomorrow."

"Why now, Father? What's changed?"

"There are certain... alignments that need to be discussed. Fire wants to take over the Ciphers group. Everyone thinks there is no heir or heiress for Ciphers. This meeting is crucial."

"I understand," I reply, though my mind is already whirling with possibilities. "Do you need any support for the meeting?"

"I'll handle it," he assures me. "But stay vigilant. There's a lot at stake."

"Always," I promise before ending the call.

"Clear the west side!" I commanded through my earpiece, my eyes scanning every corner for potential threats. "Remember, our primary objective is the women. No unnecessary risks."

As we navigated the labyrinthine warehouse, I caught a glimpse of Tom acting suspiciously near a stack of crates. I made a mental note but kept my focus on the mission.

"Over here!" one of my team members called out. "We found them."

I rushed to the group of terrified women huddled together. "You're safe now," I assured them, my voice steady. "We're here to get you out."
