FIRE

I replay everything that has happened in the last 24 hours. The air was thick with tension as we huddled around a large table, a map of the city spread out before us. My father, uncle, and our top lieutenants were present, each contributing their expertise to the plan. I stood at the head of the table, my mind racing with the complexities of the mission ahead.

"We need to ensure our bait is irresistible," I began, pointing to a marked location on the map. "We'll plant the rumor that Dark's most valuable stock is being moved tonight. It should draw Frost out."

Albert, my trusted second-in-command, nodded thoughtfully. "Agreed, but what about the security detail? If we make it too tight, they might smell a trap."

"Exactly," I replied, tapping the map for emphasis. "We'll make it look vulnerable, just enough to be tempting. We'll use some of our men disguised as guards, but keep the real muscle hidden nearby."

My uncle, ever the skeptic, leaned forward with a frown. "What if Frost has insiders? This plan could easily backfire if they get wind of it."

I sighed, rubbing my temples in frustration. "We've considered that. We'll rotate the guards, use only those who have been thoroughly vetted. Anyone even remotely suspicious is out."

"The location," Albert interjected, "needs to be somewhere Frost can't easily escape from. A place with limited exits and plenty of cover for our men."

I nodded, appreciating his strategic thinking. "I was thinking about the old warehouse district. It's secluded, has limited escape routes, and we can control the environment."

My father, who had been quietly listening, finally spoke up. "This plan hinges on Frost taking the bait. What makes you so sure she will?"

I met his gaze, my resolve unwavering. "Because Dark's stock is too valuable for her to pass up. And every time she's slipped through Dark's traps, it's been because he underestimated her. We won't make that mistake."

My uncle snorted, clearly unconvinced. "And if she escapes again?"

"Then we adapt," I replied sharply. "But this time, we're going to be smarter, faster, and more prepared than she's ever seen."

The room fell silent for a moment, the weight of the mission settling on everyone. My father broke the silence, his voice steady. "Let's review the details once more."

The night of the mission, the air was thick with anticipation. We moved under the cover of darkness, our team strategically positioned around the old warehouse district. The area was eerily quiet, the perfect setting for an ambush.

I watched from the shadows, my eyes scanning the area for any sign of Frost. Suddenly, movement caught my attention. A group of men approached the warehouse, their posture tense and alert. I signaled to my team, and we quietly closed in.
