FROST
The intel about the next warehouse arrived via a cryptic message, its contents heavily encrypted. It took hours to crack the code, but when the details finally emerged, my pulse quickened. The coordinates pointed to a decrepit warehouse on the outskirts of the city, known for being a hotspot for illicit activities. This was our chance to save more women from the horrors of human trafficking, and we couldn't afford to fail.
"Steel, gather the team," I ordered, handing him the decrypted message. The urgency in my voice was clear. "We need to move fast."
Steel nodded, his expression turning serious. "On it, Frost. I'll get everyone to the briefing room."
Within minutes, my team was assembled around the large table in our briefing room. Maps and blueprints of the warehouse district were spread out before us. I stood at the head of the table, my eyes scanning the determined faces of my team members. These were the people I trusted with my life, each of them committed to our cause.
"Alright, listen up," I began, pointing to the location on the map. "Our target is this warehouse here. Our objective is to infiltrate, secure the hostages, and neutralize any threats. We need to move in fast and clean. No unnecessary risks. We get in, we get out. Understood?"
A chorus of affirmations followed. I felt a surge of pride for my team; they were a mix of seasoned veterans and newer recruits, all united by a shared purpose.
"Team Alpha," I continued, "you'll take the north entrance. Team Bravo, you're on the south. Team Charlie, cover the perimeter and make sure no one escapes. Remember, our priority is the women inside. No collateral damage. And if anyone steps out of line, there will be consequences. Got it?"
The room buzzed with focused energy as we discussed the details. Positions were assigned, entry points debated, and backup plans formulated. My team knew the drill, but every mission had its unique challenges, and we had to be prepared for anything.
"As soon as we're in position," I said, "we'll cut the power to the building to create confusion and give us the element of surprise. Steel, you're in charge of that."
Steel nodded. "Got it. I'll make sure it's done right."
As night fell, we moved out, our convoy of unmarked vans blending into the city's shadowy streets. The warehouse loomed ahead, a dark, ominous structure hiding untold horrors within. We parked a few blocks away, proceeding on foot to maintain the element of surprise.
Through my earpiece, I issued the final commands. "Team Alpha, move to position. Team Bravo, standby. Charlie, secure the perimeter. Go dark and stay silent."
We moved with the practiced efficiency of a well-oiled machine, each step bringing us closer to our target. I led Team Alpha, with Steel at my side. His eyes were constantly scanning our surroundings for any sign of trouble. As we reached the entrance, I signaled for silence, my heart pounding in my chest.
