Jungsu decided to take a detour from his usual route and ended up at Gunil and Hyeongjun's house instead of heading home. When he arrived, he wasted no time getting out of his car and hurriedly made his way to the front door, where he began knocking loudly and urgently.
The morning was still young, as the couple had no work or band practice scheduled, allowing them to sleep in later than usual. The sound of a loud banging on the door jolted Hyeongjun awake, prompting him to investigate the disturbance. To his surprise, he found Jungsu standing on their doorstep, looking guilty for interrupting their day off.
"Jungsu hyung, are you okay?" Hyeongjun asked worriedly.
"I-I'm fine. Sorry for such short notice; I just needed some advice," Jungsu replied guiltily.
Hyeongjun and Jungsu entered the house, with Jungsu choosing to remain in the living room while waiting for Hyeongjun and Gunil. After some time had passed, the couple made their way downstairs to join Jungsu.
"Are you okay? You look a little disheveled and a little messy," Gunil said worriedly.
Jungsu's face turned red, and he became lost in thought, causing Gunil and Hyeongjun to exchange concerned glances. They stood by patiently as Jungsu began to ramble about the recent encounter he had with Jooyeon.
"I honestly don't know where to start. Last time I was at the hospital, I asked the staff about Jooyeon and Jiseok's schedule, so you know, just in case they go home." Jungsu didn't get to continue as Gunil cut him off.
"Oh, so, it seems like you and Jooyeon are on good terms now?" Gunil asked.
"Well, yes, it was more of a civil conversation, but that's beside the point. What I was trying to say is that I was aware of their schedules, and Seungmin kept asking me about Jiseok's schedule, so I eventually gave it to him. Then, after two weeks of being discharged, I went to the hospital last night to pick them up, but Seungmin showed up, so Jiseok went to his car." Jungsu spoke quickly, making rapid gestures as he explained the situation.
This was the first occasion on which they had witnessed Jungsu speak so animatedly and rapidly, and they found themselves struggling to keep pace with his sudden burst of energy. Instead of interrupting or trying to interject, they simply emitted a low hum in response, signaling to Jungsu that they were engaged and eager for him to continue sharing his story.
"Then I tried convincing Jooyeon that I'd take him home, which he agreed to in the end. The ride home was awkward, although we're already civil. Then I told him that I may or may not have been following him all this time." Jungsu was cut off again as Hyeongjun spoke.
"Hyung, that's borderline creepy."
"I know, but the other day he was almost mugged and I ended up stalling him for some time to go home safely. Since then, I kept my distance from him and observed him to see if he went home safely. Then he thanked me for the mugging incident." Jungsu continued.
"What happens next?" Gunil is now interested in his friend's story.
"As we walked together, I found myself following him all the way to his front door. Before I knew it, he extended an invitation for me to come inside and share a cup of coffee with him." Jungsu's cheeks turned a bright shade of red as he pictured Jooyeon seated on his lap, their lips locked in a passionate embrace.
Hyeongjun attempted to get Jungsu's attention by snapping his fingers, noticing that his friend's face had turned a bright shade of red. "Hyung, your face looks really flushed," he observed, trying to draw Jungsu out of his trance.
"Did something happen that you're so distracted right now, Su?" Gunil teased the younger even more.
"Gunil hyung, shut up." Jungsu covered his face with his hands in embarrassment.
Jungsu inhaled, then continued his story. "We were just sitting on the couch in silence when suddenly Jooyeon spoke to me and said that he missed me."
Hyeongjun inquired about the subsequent events that unfolded after the sudden silence descended upon the group.
"I confessed to him that I also missed him, and before we knew it, we found ourselves engaging in a passionate kiss." Jungsu quickly responded, revealing that Gunil and Hyeongjun had not caught onto his previous statement until Gunil finally reacted.
"You guys kissed?! What the fuck!"
"You guys suddenly kissed then? Now I wasn't expecting that both of you would start kissing each other again after months of separation," Hyeongjun continued.
"Yes, we kissed, but we did more than that," Jungsu replied.
"Oh god, you guys did what now?!" Gunil chided Jungsu like a father disappointed in his son's actions.
"Hyung, calm down. We had sex. Now, I can't even face him. It was consensual; we agreed, but the consequences are still awkward," Jungsu said.
"Did you guys discuss that? Just make sure not to make things more complicated by bringing up your relationship status," Hyeongjun inquired.
"We have not had a conversation about this yet, and I doubt that we will discuss it in the future," responded Jungsu.
Gunil, now in a calm and composed state, suggested to Jungsu that it would be beneficial for them to address a potential issue in order to prevent any confusion or misunderstandings in the future. Following the brief encounter, Jungsu returned to his residence.
